So I’m not entirely sure what “frame” is and I’ve been new to TRP, but I know need to keep it right??? But here’s the scenario
Ex (28f) and I (28m) got into really great relationship for 4/5 months over the summer. I had known her since college for many years and she was a friend for a long time. We hook up and Sex was amazing, 11/10, very freaky, she was a dime piece 9/10, and she’s in her last year of med school.
Our relationship was legit over the summer we hung out damn near every day, went on weekend trips together etc., and we even said we loved each other at one point (we were drunk and I chose to ignore it the next day) point is, it was legit and there was a real connection.
When we started dating we both lived in Philly but it was known that I was pursuing job opportunities in Florida, and that for the next 5 months after the summer she would be doing month long externships in different cities before she matches her residency. I argued against officially “dating” but nonetheless she basically begged me to date her and we went “official.”
Towards the end of the summer I’m offered my more-or-less dream job in Miami, FL (I’m a maritime lawyer and Miami is best place to be for this stuff). Even though she pleaded with me to date her and said we could make it work with the distance etc., she ends up ending things shortly after I tell her that I am moving to Miami.
I understand that even if we WANTED to date it’s just not a realistic possibility NOW. She’s got a few more months of traveling across the country for various externships, and I currently live in a state 1000miles away. However, one of her externships is in Florida and there is a strong possibility that we reunite in Florida in several months or a year or so (she has said her Florida externship is her first choice so far)
I am back in Philly for a few days taking care of things (renting my house, etc.). My question is, I want to remain on good terms with this girl and I really like her. Obviously I will be pursuing other women in Florida (duh it’s fuckin Miami) but I want to make it known that what we had mattered to me and if the circumstances are right I’d be open to trying again some day.
How do I do this while still being manly and not seem that I am clinging to something that is in the past. I do like her, and I believe I would absolutely be in a happy healthy relationship with her we’re it not for pursuing a career in Florida. How do I not sound like a soft pussy in conveying this? What do I do?
Thanks everyone
