I know this is very privileged but fuck it life is short I'm going to try and used what life has blessed me with. I have a family friend who is close with my dad who has been either the CEO or some other high ranking position in a few successful sports/lifestyle companies. I want to end up in his industry and position in the future. My question is how can I best utilize this guy's expertise and possibly get him as a mentor? He lives in a different country to me but I have done a few favors for him over the last couple of weeks and have just tried to portray myself as a young hard-working guy that is respectful. I think my plan in the near future is to ask him for a chat and talk to him about his story and how he got where he is and then ask him for tips on how to break into the industry myself as well as mistakes I should avoid. Is there anything else I should be doing? How did you guys get someone to mentor you into success?
