Because I've seen both, the former mostly from BP/FDS types and the latter from RPers.

In the first view, men are supposed to be the "hunters". Basically, in order to be judged as worthy they have to initiate things, pay for dates, and demonstrate their willingness to commit and do anything for her.

In the second, men should be the prize. By chasing after women and trying to qualify yourself to them, you are setting yourself up as being of lower value and trying to "pass her evaluation" so to speak. Chad doesn't chase, because he doesn't need to.

Just wondering which side people stand on, or maybe neither? I have a visceral feeling that the second option is better for guys as long as they've got something going on in their lives.
