I carry my smart phone on me but always keep it on silent / do not disturb.
Nobody can interrupt me and I only access it when I truly need to (GPS, YELP, STOCKS)

I have a 30 mile commute to work by car on the motorway. It gets very busy. I see 5 or 6 women on their phones whilst driving every day. There is always one crawling along in the middle lane, face buried in the fucking thing. And they are always some fat, hairy cat-loving gormless thing who looks at me like "Whaaat? I'm just on my phooone??? Gaaaad?!?" Its actually a bit like an alien invasion. Everyday there are more, but no-one cares...

There is a younger female colleague in my office who is addicted to her mobile. She is constantly on her fb. She comes to me with questions and will fuck around on her phone while I am answering. To me it's the epitome of rudeness and one day I snapped. I told her "if you don't quit finger banging your phone I am going to take it and shove it up your ass.". It shocked her but she got the point and has stopped doing that with me.
Note: I would not recommend this approach to most. I am relatively senior and work in a setting relatively free of SJW influence. This could cause big trouble in most professional offices.
