Now this is not to say the female as a gender are not funny. It is simply men on average are mostly juvenile and lack emotional intelligence. Not to be a chandler about this but men need humor as a coping mechanism and as a tool for social interaction. And peacock style sexual selection is also a factor. Humor is a major tool for men in selecting a sexual partner.

The disparity is more obvious in the professionals. There are no female competition for even modern male stand up greats like Dave Chappelle or Louie. Let alone George Carlin, Bill Hicks etc.
