DO NOT pay to go to one of those ‘pre apprenticeship’ schools. They are a waste. Just find a sponsor, or someone willing to take you on, learn, work hard, get registered, and then start building your CAREER.

Finding a GOOD SPONSOR is a vital part.

I’m a non union, 3rd yr apprentice, and I should have done this for myself YEARS ago.

Goal is license, then cushy union job. En route!

Electrician is a great career field. I would say do Union electrician or find a way into a government backed program. Such as federal civilian electrician for navy ships.

Don’t let anyone dick you over. Low wages/shitty behaviour etc.

Make sure you get registered ASAP. Lots of small companies will use guys until they either ask for a raise, or registration. Carrot on a string kind of deal. Don’t let it happen to you.

Just take it seriously, it’s not a job. It’s a career!

Electrician is too high iq for me. I find it hard learning electrical concepts.
