Family Tax Benefits are bullshit. I'm livid it about it myself. Taxes are meant to be used for things that need done, not parceled out to voting blocks based on their woe is me story or their lifestyle choices.

These also used to be higher, which meant single people were paying all the taxes. A guy I work with, a guy I generally liked, had a stay at home wife and three kids. Average Salary for the region 50K-ish (US$). He paid no taxes. I told him to stop bragging about every year because it was pissing me off. A couple other dudes have brought his up to. I'm not the only one.

Furthermore, the argument laid forth is that these little tikes are going to be future tax payers so that's a net gain. I'm pretty dubious about that since they were being raised socialist. Seems I'm right since they are voting for free health care and education (free meaning I'm paying for it).

I'm not happy to see the pendulum swing back.

Furthermore Single people lose money as they cannot share house/rent/appliance/utility payments. Two people can share an extra car in the family, where I have to maintain 2 cars all by my lonesome. Woe is me... damn, now they've got me doing it. See why its a bad idea.

Also figure in I gotta cover their hours to work when they get knocked up for maternity leave or even just the plethora of sick days parents have to take off to deal with their sick kids. Technically this means more money, but I'd rather have the time off (corona virus aside, I'm just talking during normal times).

I don't necessarily think OP is broke or jealous, just pissed off about how his tax dollars are being spent and rightfully so. I'm certainly not broke, but i paid almost $50k in taxes last year and frankly, this pisses me off too.

Going off the writing style, this is probably a man.

Either way, it is a bit misguided. Sure, it bullshit to have to fund someone else's crotch goblins, but they are technically contributing much more to society by having children. Society is about to grind to a halt because the birthrate, and benefits like this are the only reason it hasn't already happened.
