They might be right because if the big comp firms refused to hire men the men would compete in small firms and push the industry forward maybe. Lol they might make it "a man can't have any size business or be a contractor without hiring a woman"

Then itll be "men cant own property unless a woman lives there too"

It is true if Britain had added gender and racial quotas it would have had the world best of everything by now. All male would be the first thing then as many Asians as you can get. Maybe even just go to South Korea and exchange some British women for their men.

There other factors besides gender. Big economic and legal factors.

What people forget the UK was in an economic funk after WWII. Rationing did not end until the mid 1950's. The empire was breaking up. There was little money for anything. The US was flush with cash in 1945, undamaged, low casualties. That absolute advantage did not go away until about 1970.

Much of Asia and Europe war front line war zones as well you can google what they suffered.. Off all the major combatants The US and Canada suffered the least both in absolute numbers and as % of population.

Much of Silicon Valley's original talent pool came from Sanford University. Maybe 20 miles away? Then you have MIT, University of Chicago, etc...

Plus you have a hundreds of Land Grant State universities, large and small. Some are really bad but some are really really good schools and research facilities. They really came into their own after WWII. The combination of the original WWII GI bill and government research grants filled those coffers. The result was there was a lot of talent graduating and a lot of research facilities getting funded.

California does not enforce non-competes unless you are selling a business. So you can't hoard talent or lock them out. Steve Jobs/Apple tried to prevent poaching via a "gentlemen's" agreement with other big tech firms and recruiters. Apple and co conspirators got sued and spanked pretty hard for that shit.

So you had a powerful combination of ready cash to spend on investment, venture capital, R&D, consumer purchases, legal frame work and talent. The early advantage the UK and her Empire had in most technological fields was going to be gone by 1960 at the latest.

Go look at documentaries about computers. All the early home computers were targeted to entire families. Women also had an upper hand because they were taught personal computers first - as secretaries and whatnot.

But women never ever caread a bout computers until computers let women be thots and attention whores.
