Attractive surgeon and his attractive wife in Orange County accused by a corrupt former DA who claimed there was tons of video evidence of the rape of 1000+ women. The public believes every bit of it because, hey, they're rich and attractive so they must be evil. It comes out that the former DA was lying the entire time and there was never any evidence, he just wanted the case to go public because his re-election was coming up . Now the women who "came forward" and accused them are saying that it really did happen instead of recanting their statements.

Absolutely pathetic---two innocent people shamed for a year, no one believing they're innocent, and still their names are being dragged through the mud that they "paid off the judges." Always, always guilty until proven innocent. Look at comments from when this came out originally---hell, look at the comments NOW after they are declared innocent. In a couple decades or less people are going to look back on these #metoo times as the modern Witch Hunt or Satanic Panic. #believeallwomen, even though a couple decades ago therapists convinced people to create false memories of satanic cults sacrificing children. Turns out it was all fabricated and nothing was ever found that corroborated any witness statements, surprise surprise. These people need to be fucking prosecuted. The former, lying DA who ruined lives. Therapists that "drudge up old memories" of sexual assault that never happened. Perpetrators of this false outrage culture.

Now here we are, in another moral panic about "rape culture" and widespread misogyny and sexual assault, with women acting like they are going to be raped in broad daylight walking down the street. The news, feminist rants, outrage culture are all contributing to this shit. Women are fabricating false memories to accuse others then act like they're still the victims when it's proven they were accusing innocent people. And that is me being nice and calling it "false memories" when oftentimes they are just fucking lying to ruin other people for no reason. Is sexual assault happening around the world? Yes. Is there some weird, sketchy sexual shit happening in affluent areas? Yes. But what a pathetic fucking society we live in, terrifying itself over monsters that are actually just shadows in the corner.

No matter how much bullshit people feed you, don't believe everything you hear. The news, the average person, everyone would have you believe that the world is burning down around you, the world is about to end because of global warming, Trump is the reincarnation of Hitler (though no one can give you actual examples of bad things he has done, he's just evil), you're going to get shot when walking down the street when you're more likely to be struck by lightning. Except by almost every metric, the world is better than it has ever been. Fucking clown society, I want nothing to do with it.
