It's not even because it's cheating. It's because she took a hit to her self-esteem.

I feel like another part of it is that I feel SO insecure now because of my partners porn use, that I kind of want to seek validation from others, just to know that I'm not what my mind says I am (ugly, fat). Sucks that other people's problems impact us so much.

It's just a convenient excuse. Almost all woman would choose to have an open relationship if they thought they could avoid all the bad consequences to them personally.

And if he didn't look at porn, it would be video games. And if not video games, it would be another hobby. An excuse is always available to women to claim a lack of intimacy and validate being a hoebag.
