You have to understand what this type of pleasant social self-effacement really is. It's the attempt to supplicate to others, show how harmless and cute you are, so they will like you more. Just like a little bitch would, in front of a dangerous Alpha wolf.

Suppose you deliberately start acting like a clinical narcissist. You may see more success as you fool some people some of the time, but who are we really fooling. Even as a narcissist you'd still be supplicating: being Narcisse to others so they will like you more.

The essence of the alternative that TRP proposes is stopping the supplication itself. It may be tricky, especially at first, but you can even keep your favorite self-effacing humour, and if you cut out the supplication you will be very successful socially. The core virtue you need to cultivate is truly in your heart not giving a fuck whether others will like or dislike you. Social supplication in every form is the defining trait of the beta male.

You can start by developing the attitude that your self effacing personality is actually a disguise used to test woman's reaction and to see if they are gold digger.
