I get the biggest kick out of this hearing this. "Its... like... um... a tool of the patriarchy to abuse and dehumanize me. I am so underestimated."

Um... Guys do this to each other... all the fucking time. Its called explaining. Unless you know literally everything, its how you learn from your fellow human beings and evolve. WTF!?! Half the time its just a relevant conversation starter. Say you are a class about statistics.... You bring up what you know. They bring up what they know. You compare and contrast in an effort to get a better understanding of the world around you.

Everyday at work we got like eight guys standing around before shift start or maybe later at lunch. One of them will say something about something that isn't working right: a 72' Corvair that won't start, an above ground pool that had a stick shoved through it during the last windstorm, his wife's banging his landlord, his kid's failing math, how to handle the shmuck that's always going all in at Texas Hold'em every hand, his X-Box's power light turned red... whatever... And the guy who already went through that problem and is the resident expert will pipe right up about how he handled it. We always got a guy for that. Its almost like there is some sort of COMMUNITY that has some ever-evolving free exchange of ideas. "What sort of Evil Dark Magic is this?"

Sure sometimes somebody calls bullshit because you have two experts, but that's part of the process. Peer Review is how hypothesis becomes proven theory.

For instance, just last night, I was having a conversation about the Vietnam (Police Action) War with a guy. That led into Iraq/Afghanistan and other current events. Turns out I thought I knew a lot. He thought he knew a lot. We both knew things the other didn't. Now we are both smarter. I'm glad I did that.
