48 laws of power is a great book to read but it has flaws and exaggerations. Some people apply it to the bone and some people trash it because they think it's a malicious book.

However, I view it in a different perspective. I evaluate each law individually.

Some laws in that book should just be common sense and in reality have nothing to do with malice and power. It can be a good resource to tend to when you have bad advice around you. I think its content is red pill and slightly black pill (like how all people will harm you if there were no consequences for doing so even if they appear "nice")

Growing up I got myself in problems for breaking the books' laws. I criticized my teachers when they did something wrong (friendly non-malicious criticism) was enough to make them have my grades tampered with. Also, I had put too much trust in "friends" and then they backstabbed me and trashed me and I also said more than necessary and made me an open book. I tried to appear perfect and this caused people to set high expectations of me and judge me and made me receive unneccessary spotlight in general.

So in simple terms: a lot of the laws in the book should be applied by everyone as they are common sense but unfortunately the marketing of the book to appear as a malicious power guide gives notority to those otherwise malice-free and neutral laws.

So, I have modified the content of that book to make it personalized for me. I am seeking to use it defensively, to protect myself from being exploited out of naivety and it also helps me to gyow.

So again, a large precentage of the rules in the book have nothing to do with seeking power or dealing malice but to learn to be aware and vigilant about dealing with others which is essential to going your own way and enjoying your life on your own terms stress free.

So, how have you used this book to help yourself GYOW? What MGTOW oriented rules did you adapt out of it?
