Being obese already puts a strain on your body. So a strained body should also affect a baby in some way.

Also I think, obese pregnancies make the baby have a higher chance for diabetes, I think.

Lots of confounding factors here. Data based on mostly African-American mothers in a low income, high pollution part of New York City.

I would not be surprised to find the same in a more controlled study, though.

I don't know guys, my mother was as skinny as a twig when she had me and I'm still dumber than a bag of rocks lol.

Seriously though, this isn't surprising, contrary to what these modern day clowns on social media think; being obese is unhealthy so it's likely a woman is going to squeeze out another obese or unhealthy hamlet.
