Yeah, but its not like working for the government is "work". They cant fire you, unless you really screw up, and even then, its hard.

You could always try and see if you could hack it in the private sector and get a half week (wow! 4 days!) off..

It would really help knowing the profession, to make a truly logical assessment. But outside of that, she's being completely unreasonable for HER OWN CHOICES.

If the pay is like it is in the military (another government organization), it's gonna be salary. Which it does suck if they make you work weekends and holidays because no overtime pay, not to mention they might start you with not that much pay, but, provided you don't fuck up and the government doesn't go belly up, it's pretty safe and secure. No wonder she likes it and doesn't jump into the private sector. And from this we can see why women really find socialism appealing. Not a big payday, but nice and secure, plus she can always latch on to some big government apparatchik and make him her hubby.

Pretty simple: while she was partying in college he sacrificed some of his fun years to learn skills that would be in demand and grant him the salary and free time he now has. He's reaping the rewards of his hard work, and she's reaping the rewards of her lack of it.

The person she's upset with is herself, and she'll probably take it out on him until he throws her out of his life for her abuse.
