Reminder: A frequent trope in TV shows (live action and anime) is the man that gives his life to do what is right or for someone else safety. It does not exist in women characters, whose trope is to be accepted and popular despite grievous faults (ex. pretty woman 80s movie).

Yu Yu Hakusho was about so much more than that. When he went for the final battle in the first arc it wasn't about giving up his life, it was about to comitting to something, and he chose to commit himself to the people in his life. Literally half of them were men.

I have to find the post that destroys the Twilight series (movies and books). A whole list of feminist fantasies inserted into this one fictional universe.

One of them was the fact that Belle (female main character) dies during childbirth, only to be resurrected because vampires or some shit. The self-insert female lead gets to:

Get impregnated by some vampire Chad
Die during childbirth, the ultimate sacrifice a woman can make
Wiggle out of the cost of the sacrifice because vampire magic, getting best of both worlds

it is much better now for anime .The World God Only Knows did have a self centered guy and girls who had flaws that had to be addressed.It did lead to other anime though.

Konosuba was pretty unapologetic about equality.Even the newer harem anime are reveresing the trend in many ways.

Shiled Hero Anime is awesome.Iiterally has a "flase rape" accused hero.

The virtue signaling bitch tsundere being put on a pedestal like and the male lead being self righteous simp is getiing extict.And thats a good thing.
