I think there are a lot of people that don't want to hear things against their "beliefs" because those beliefs were programmed into them at an emotional level and not with a rational basis with any strong foundation. They can't debate their positions with facts and thus they get very quickly get upset to shut down conversations. With organized religion being supplanted by mainstream and social media, the moral fabric of society is unraveling, and an ever increasing percentage of people are worshiping money and narcissistic/hedonistic behaviors above everything. Many of these lost people are also latching onto progressive social justice ideologies they are being fed because it makes them feel good.
