The real irritant is what's behind that distributor cap. The ignitor has a high failure rate and the body holds multiple cam position sensors that aren't sold separately if one goes bad.

For all the other repairs it got, every single time my first car got towed it was thanks to that damn Honda distributor! I was able to do enough maintenance on that old car to keep it running really well, and then randomly one day it would just die. Poof. Another non-serviceable sensor in that distributor went fubar. A few hundred dollars would buy a couple more years. The ignitor might die in the winter but that was only about $10.

Gosh, I haven't seen that car in decades and I still have the VIN memorized thanks to how many times I had to talk to the Honda parts department. Good learner car I guess?

Ah. The Honda distributor failing on your 92-00 civic and i think they used the same part on some Accords up to mid 00's. Don't see many of those on this side of the pond anymore. Rust and the scrapage scheme got most of them.
