Good luck getting the cops to do anything. They refuse if the person is in another state to do anything. I had some hacker from Burlington, NJ constantly getting into my old Yahoo email despite taking nearly every precaution. Then while checking login info under my account I noticed he had someone at Yahoo connecting to my account and giving him my information beforehand. I reported him to his ISP and a month later he was back at it. I just shut the email down and never went back to Yahoo's lousy security.

In today's world of nationalized professional hacking groups, it's nuts to not use a VPN for all banking/financial transactions AND use 2 factor authentication on your accounts.

It's also a good idea to have a computer/tablet that you only use for business and investments, and nothing else.

A separate device for gaming, torrents, TOR use, and random web stuff will prevent any rootkit/virus/hacking of your banking machine
