This girl I once dated but became friends with after the relationship ended and I moved back to town. Strictly platonic friendship.

I was very good to her and her mom, I was the only positive and consistent male in their life. I would buy them nice things for the house and help them from time to time, not with bills but buy the beer for the night and leave them some or smoke with them for free and leave them some.

We would go through this cycle. We would be friends for a while and then she would pull some epic BS on me and I wouldn't tolerate it and would call her out on it. (She's very attractive, so she's not used to that kind of thing) and the "friendship" would end. Then about 6 months later she would contact me and "apologize" for the past and (like an idiot) I would be friends with her again. This cycle repeated at least 6 times.

This last period of not being friends lasted about two years, during that time I made major advances in my life. I found true Biblical Christianity, I got a good job and tripled my income, I got sober, I got a house, I got a nice vehicle, I discovered MGTOW….

Then I got a phone call. From her. Wanting to be friends again. She seemed to have changed too, so I decided to try being friends again but this time I was armed with knowledge I've learned from mgtow and other areas of life.

She told me she had a baby; 5 months ago. I'm no dumbass, she is only trying to get back into my life so she can squeeze resources out of me because her babydaddy is MIA. She has nothing but baggage and I'm doing pretty good.

A couple weeks later she told me she was moving to Tennessee. About 1,000 miles from here, had been kinda planning it for a few months … then I started thinking.

She's can't be trying to squeeze me for resources if she leaving town soon; yet why would she want to be friends again if she's just going to be leaving town? Didn't make sense and I didn't think about it too much because I'm a busy man.

Here's where I started to figure it out. She text me and asks "Do you still have that utility trailer and hitch on your truck?".... I'm thinking she sold some furniture to a friend and wants me to move it across town for them. NOPE. She just assumes I'm going to take a couple of days off work, load up my trailer and new truck and drive 2,000 miles to help her move to Tennessee. She acts like this is no big deal and is suspiciously flirty.

Then it clicks. This is a two month long con job! She only wanted to be "friends" with me again so I would help her and her mom move across the country. There is literally no one else in their life to help them, they ran every friend and family member off!

This was just a strong suspicion. I wanted confirmation so I couldn't outright accuse them of it….They invited me over to drink some beers, pack boxes and discuss moving(which I never agreed to, they just assumed I would do it). I go over there and have a few beers and pack a few things… Then came time to discuss moving, I wasted no time and said "I'm not going to be helping you move across country"... Immediate Shit-Storm.... We have a few words back and forth. I'm calm, she's emotional to say the least. Then I lock eyes with my "friend" and assertively ask "How is this all dependent on me???? Did you only want to be friends with me so I would help you move??" ......Dead-Nervous-Silence….. Then she threw a load of BS excuses/lies at me. I've known her for over a decade and can easily know when she's lying. I told her "I'm done here" and walked out.

I wish I could describe how good it felt to catch her BS, stop her BS, prevent her from manipulating me, and then learn that my suspicion was true. I could feel-taste-and smell that sensation.

Yet, it breaks my heart and truly saddens me for two very different reasons.

  1. Her life is crappy, I wish it wasn't, it's her fault that her life is shit but I just hate to see people like that.

  2. That someone I cared about, someone I loved would try and take advantage of me like that. Would lie to me like that. Would manipulate me like that. How do people like her sleep at night?
