People can't run away from you if they're standing in line for something
Found Sun Tzu's descendant.
No but really, good tactic. :)

I see a few downsides.
The teacher and her husband have a natural pretext for giving away cupcakes. A single guy playing donut fairy is artificial and potentially creepy.
Cupcakes and donuts aren't appreciated by health conscious people. Even the pigeons don't want the leftovers. You'll be a hit with the fatties maybe.
You'll run afoul of health laws, giving away foods not individually wrapped. Theater management and security are not your friends.
Now everyone needs napkins, water, trash cans. There come messes and litter. Thanks.
Your captive audience has plenty of time to watch you working the line as you approach and move on. How many callbacks are you getting?
How do you spin this as not-a-BetaBucks?

or it could simply be a fun and easy way to feel like a hero for a few minutes, and get over your shyness.
Or you can keep making more excuses and longer it'll take for you to cure ur shyness.
Here's a thing - if you want to learn to cold call... start cold calling. if you want to learn to cold approaches, start approaching. There is nothing out there that can help you.
you can theorize all you want, but you really learn to swim in the water. and you don't have to spend money on buying cupcakes.

Why would you need that? Sounds like you have many friends already:
myself and a couple hundred of my closest friends
So, tell us: - did you become 'friends' with that teacher? You have her number/name? - did she make (more) friends? - how can you talk to the ones you're interested in when you're handing out donuts, being the center of their attention only because you give them something for free?
Let us know how it works out for you - make it a [FR].

I don't know if he was serious in the amount of friends. Maybe he just meant fellow Star Wars goers. Idk but if he really has that many friends, kudos af (but I'm not sure about the "closest" part), and I would be in favor of always making more, because networking is gold.
There is a huge opportunity to run and practice your game when contact is initiated in any manner, in this case when you're giving out donuts to people there's that less pressure of rejection and being creep shamed because it feels justified in the sense of "I'm talking to everybody, I talked to the fatty I talked to that guy, now I'm talking to HB9 there's absolutely nothing different about this interaction" as opposed to a cold approach, granted yes we do have to develop the nerve to keep our frame at rejection, but some people need the baby steps, and even then if you can cold approach I don't see why I shouldn't add it to my arsenal.
Like I said baby steps, if you're following RP's advice, you should be able to at least get the fatties kik snapchat instagram or twitter etc etc. Snapchat is best since it's not personal like kik (everybodyss adding everybodyyyyy) and you can just take a photo with the fatty and (pretend to) send it and then ask her for her username, and boom she'll be bugging the shit out of you and you can meet her less ugly friend, then that girls okay friend, then her cute sister.
Here is a guide on fatties provided by GuitarHero07
Chat up a fatty who is decently sociable. Preferably she is an underclassman. The fatties will be receptive. They don't have decent looking guys talk to them often.
Hang out with said fatty. Even if she is hideous and has intolerable opinions, hang out with her a few times. Never be overtly romantic/sexual but keep the possibility open that she might get some D (kinda like hot girls and their beta orbiters).
Get fatty to introduce you to her circle of friends. You might have to hang out with her a few times....fatties are keenly aware that guys will use them to get to their hot friends.
Fatty will introduce you to her circle....she gets cool points for introducing her cool friend to the group. Be nice to everybody, introduce yourself. Work the room. Join in a game of beer pong, a political discussion, sports discussion....whatever. Make platonic friends....do not immediately start hitting on girls or you'll trigger the cockblock response from the fatty and the beta orbiters. Get numbers and make plans with the guys.
Do stuff with the guys. Invite them over to your place. Grab beers with them. Smoke a bowl, watch a sporting event, hit the gym with them. BOOM now you're into their social circle. You can now drift away from the fatty. She will initially try to stick to you like white on rice, but she'll get the message soon enough.
Use your social circle as a vehicle to meet women and get access to other social circles and parties. Many social circles are tangential to each other so if you get into one, you have access to plenty more.
I used this strategy in my college town. I'm almost 30. Before, I was the creepy older guy when I tried to hit on college girls at the bar. But once I infiltrated one social circle, I suddenly had access to a lot of college and grad school ass through warm approaches/social proof.

I was giving him a hard time. Who knows: maybe his donut-game resulted in all those 100's of closest friends... Cost him a small fortune, but now he is known as the 'Donut-Kid'... I was not dismissing at such: it could be interesting, even for some field-study: do people leave the line for a donut? Do they hook up, or return to their spot as quickly as possible? Also, most will be accompanied by friends, so, are they inclined to meet new people?
And sure, that strategy does work. That is why they always advice to join some club or charity (in a new town) - volunteering at, e.g., the SPCA you get to meet new people, that might draw you into their circles. Just be a bit selective - otherwise you seem desperate and not exclusive.
[–]livelearndiee 0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Of course you have to be selective, although if you have a low smv and get a rush of cortisol at the thought of just starting a conversation with a girl, you have to start somewhere...
Well maybe that's not the case for you, but when I started recovering, I found it much easier to run game and be more dominant around lower smv women.
[–]BradPill 0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Of course. Nothing wrong with it - that is just how it works. I don't even approach, so you're already ahead of me.
[–]cnwilks1 points 10 years ago [recovered] (1 child) | Copy Link
For the record, I'm certainly not suggesting that everyone hit up Krispy Kreme and the multiplex and expect results. But under the right circumstances, who knows? Volunteering will probably result in more quality interaction, but there's a certain appeal to using the shotgun approach sometimes/
I was giving you a hard time (aka teasing). I wasn't saying it is some completely delusional approach. In fact, it would be interesting to see how it works out - which is why I asked you about the outcome/result with the teacher. I would even go so far to give you money for donuts - and then you write a [FR] here. We would all learn from it.
