Endgame was such a blunder. It wrapped up the plot, but not the story. As another user mentioned, Hulks entire arc happened off screen... for no reason. Iron man's death was a requirement for the plot but not for the story. He died because it was time to die. The entire story so far has been shaped by his personal conflict with captain america, infinity war was written entirely around the fact that their friendship was too broken to fix. Endgame should have delivered on tying that up, whether they fix things or not. Instead he just walks in says 'lets just pretend the last 19 films didn't even happen bro,' and that is it.

They knew what they were doing too. In the end when he does die its not his girlfriend that comes to his side. It was Captain America, because that has been his most important relationship in this story. Then was it his girlfriend? Nope, its Spider man. Because that was the second most important relationship in this story. Pepper and his daughter were plot devices, not real characters, especially not towards the end. And yet they couldn't deliver on a conclusion for the actual story.

Endgame should have been about Captain America trying to change the past and bring people back, and Iron Man trying to stop him for the sake of saving his daughter.
