There’s a podcast out called The Drop Out. Its telling the story of her company. How anyone wanted to work there or invest in the company is beyond me. Also according to the podcast her man voice is fake too. The Drop Out.

She was never actually anywhere NEAR being a "billionaire" in ANY way shape or form that matters.

She only ever had a fictitious/imaginary "pseduo-imputed" valuation* of "billions" -- Theranos was a private company, never had an IPO nor had it even begun the process to do so -- as a result she was never able to sell (or borrow against) the vast majority of her "founder holdings."

* The reality -- CF Theranos -- Valuation is actually a lot less than that fictional figure:

Theranos raised millions of dollars in its first years. In 2004, Theranos was based in a rented basement near the Stanford campus.[121] By December 2004 the company had more than $6 million from investors at a valuation of $30 million.[122] The company had about $45 million total fundraising after Series B and Series C funding in 2006.[123] Theranos raised an additional $45 million in 2010 at a valuation of $1 billion.[122][124] The company moved to the former headquarters of Facebook in June 2012.[125][126] The company had significant news coverage starting in September 2013 after profiles in the San Francisco Business Times and Wall Street Journal.[24] By 2014, Theranos had raised more than $400 million with an estimated value of $9 billion.[127] In 2016, Forbes revised the estimated net worth of the company to $800 million taking into account the $724 million of capital raised.[11]

Of course they never actually even HAD that $724 million on hand at once -- that was the total "raised" across a decade -- Most of the early amounts had been squandered away, and much of the last (circa 2014) round was never actually paid/provided since it was raised "conditionally" (and the conditions were never met).
