You gotta understand: A man's role in a feminist world is to provide seed and to be worked to death while providing women resources.

They marry a man, divorce him after a year or two, extract as much resources from him via alimony and child support (with the threat of imprisonment for life should he fail to meet his financial obligations), then marry the next man. If she took his last name, that would legally complicate things as she would be constantly bouncing from one cock to another and would take on a plethora of last names.

The man, meanwhile, either remarries to continue his financial contribution to feminism, dies due to stress and poor health, or commits suicide when the burden becomes too great. You can already see this is in full swing in today's world, meaning ALL women of ALL spectrums wholeheartedly approve of this because it means the maximum amount of resources extracted for the minimum amount of work (for them). If women truly cared, they would demand that the family court system be completely reworked from the ground up to be more balanced and fair. Note how not a single woman seems to care about the REAL issues and only shout for one form of "male domestic servitude" over another. The "North American Housewife" trope is only dofferent in that she has one single male providing her resources over a lifetime of stupidly easy housework compared to the current day's model of having many men provide resources to you over a shorter period of time while she still does stupidly easy housework. Long term gains vs short term gains. Women still do virtually nothing while men work themselves to death.

I will just say that it is a strong possibility that being canadian, it's part of some of their culture (and law for that matter in some province) but they don't want/can't change their family name to the one of their husbands. It has absolutely nothing to do with patriarchy bs and is more or just being seen as an individual which is totally fine. But even if you wanted, you legally couldn't in some province.
It's actually a really good thing because if you look at the divorce rate 70-80% well... needless to say you will probably want your old family name back when you divorce and will look silly... again... lol
