This was an interesting episode, the two story lines being the hapless husband trying to win back the angry wife (Homer and Marge), while a young boy tries something different to win over his crush (Milhouse and Lisa). The Simpsons is as mainstream as it gets, the writers have decided this topic is no longer controversial. TRP has hit the mainstream. It was even explicitly stated on the show, when the school guidance counselor tells Milhouse, "Don't be yourself, be that guy you just were [a jerk]."
