Take working at a job for example,most people view working as you get a job with a company and arrive in morning and spend much time and days there, usually under the authority of someone over you to do tasks that are not your own.

It's this type of work that others seem to delight at the thought. It seems to make OTHER people happy and not the individual subscribed to it. It's like the idea of it makes them happy that someone else is being miserable or has to act in this miserable way even if it doesn't make much financial sense, (many jobs out there right now don't make financial sense after expenses, travel, fuel, effort vs reward etc)

Why do people seem so happy about someone else being miserable in that situation. It's not just women who display this but they are x 100 times more intense/magnified about it.

Maybe it comes back to evolution where the woman is excited to see the man going hunting for the food so they are not thinking about the money or the logic of it. So its just the idea makes them feel good, just like the way babies make women feel good. And good looking women make a man feel good it's just a basic instinct.

I've played with this perception and often noticed when in this situation I would get more love/respect/adoration which really pissed me off because I think you should be loved and respected as is, and it's such a Stark contrast from normality that it seems fake.

Taking the other side of the example here, say the other type of work is where you get to do your own tasks for yourself whatever way that might be, say trading stocks writing a book, doing YouTube's or renting out property maybe, something that makes the INDIVIDUAL hapoy and say this made even more financial and logical sense then the other way. Yet this wayb doesn't get anywhere near the same attention and can actually have the opposite effect like jealousy/suspicion generally more distain, simply because your not say going to a building of a company at early hours everyday to subdue to authority.

This ofcourse changes if your business becomes highly successful but for those starting struggling years or those continue to struggle this is often the subtle perceptions at play and they really do affect the choices we make, because obviously we like to be liked, and so the former option always feels the most encouraged. I'm not saying anything is wrong with working at a job but if your aware of this nuanced influence it can make it seem like that sometimes.
