TL:DR - Relationships should be avoided, not women.

Let me preface this by saying that I fully support the MGTOW core principles. I don’t want to discourage the lifestyle, since I believe it’s the best way to navigate the world. My concern is for the younger members of the movement. I’ve seen several posts from teenagers, young men that have never been in a relationship, and young men that have been MGTOW for a couple of weeks. I want to caution these young men that many of the posts in this subreddit could send you down a path that isn’t aligned with MGTOW.

There’s a lot of woman shaming in this sub. Most of us, including myself, can laugh off those posts because it’s very relatable. When I hear an anecdote about how someone got screwed over by a relationship or the courts, I typically know someone else that has been through that. AWALT. It’s relatable, it’s real for many experienced men, and it’s a reminder about how we got here. Those situations involve relationships. However, I have female friends who I adore and would help out exactly the same as my bros, but I wouldn’t get into a relationship with them any sooner than I would with one of my bros.

Women aren’t the enemy. Yeah, there are some total psychos out there. Bill Burr calls it 12 percent (watch Paper Tiger if you haven’t). I think it’s 100 percent given any extended time frame. Relationships make people crazy, and they’re really difficult. They’re not worth it in my opinion. The downside risk is huge. Relationships are the enemy. Keep your focus there.

Bottom line. Never enter into a relationship that you can’t walk away from with everything you had when you started (limit relationships to friendships). Never enter a relationship where the law can leave you leashed to a person long after it’s over. Women want to be treated like one of the boys, so treat them like one of the boys. If you find yourself demonizing women and not relationships, you’ve wandered off the path. Don’t discard half the population from your life, and don’t make one of them powerful enough to fuck up your life.
