I got a tattoo, paisley, half sleeve. Know why? I was circumnavigating the earth on deployment, and didn't know what I wanted, so picked something no one else had, that wouldn't age poorly. I would get it two weeks before I left, or else I would have gotten one while drunk in Thailand. I preferred not to have AIDS and a drunken decision, so I got it. I've yet to do something else noteworthy enough to permanently ink my body. My sister has half a dozen, for literally no reason, other than to signal that she's not a normie. Bar code on the back of the next, a metal heart across her chest... Retarded, but most girls who get tattoos get that. It's like a neclace, or a charm bracelet to them.

Most guys who used to get tattoos were to commemorate achievement. Naval culture in the past few centuries have been about this. Russian Gang culture has been about this, Japaneese gang culture. You would get specific things, because it signified particular achievements, stuff that normies would never do. Even black culture in the US had this.

Every one of their tattoos are to symbolize achievement. This is what men do, they act, and through their actions, solidify their worth. You don't get a tattoo, you earn one:

Now ask yourself this, did you do anything to deserve this tattoo? Or are you chasing a feeling, and emotion? Because at that stage, you might as well get a tramp stamp and be done with it.

Coming from a man who has full back and arms Irezumi think long and hard about what message you want to send to the outside world. I'm glad TRP has made an impact on you and you want to externally recognize it with body art but keep in mind you may be in a honeymoon phase with TRP. If nothing else, have your artist put it in a place/design where a cover up won't be difficult.
