First, the backstory: a couple of weeks ago a former colleague contacted me through social media asking me about activities that she and her daughter could pursue for a weekend in my old hometown. I gave her a list of things to do, wished her good luck, and said no more. She thanked me for my info and I heard nothing more until a few days prior to her departure when she thanked me publicly on the platform for the help I had given her. Again, I told her that she would have lots of fun and wished her the best. A day later she again publicly posts that she has a friend who thinks I’m cute and who would like to be in touch. I reply back in private that ‘her friend has good taste, lol.’ She then responds and says that it was actually her and that she wasn’t going to tell me. I let her know that in my books that is being deceptive and not any way that I want to start a relationship, so goodbye and good luck.

So the moral of the story here is to not allow games and/or deceit to enter into any relationship you might undertake. If it gets a foothold, it will forever be a part of how some people operate. Best to get rid of it before it starts. End of story.
