I was booking a train for a trip and the App told me during the booking process that the train will be full and that I should consider reserving a seat. I went for it since its only 4.50 Euro and I really needed to get some work done during the trip.
The train was absolutely packed, but I quickly found my seat and saw that a pregnant woman sat in it. I showed her my reservation and politely asked her to leave, already earning some judging looks from the other passengers. She refused and went on a pretty long tirade, calling me disrespectful and a disgrace for men.
I didnt want to make a huge scene and felt really awkward so I offered her to buy the seat from me for 4.50 Euro. She refused again and called me a greedy son of a bitch.
At that point I got really pissed, waited for the conductor and informed him about the situation. He asked the lady to leave and I was able to sit. However, everybody was staring me into the ground.
I really dont know how to feel about this. I think I was in the right but obviously the other passengers didnt feel the same way. I havent talked about it with family or friends, afraid of their reaction.
So Reddit, am I the asshole here?

She attempted to steal his property(albeit rented). A pregnant thief is still a thief. Pregnancy is not a handicap or an excuse to be a shitty person.

Kind of reassuring that the majority of commenters give it a "NTA".

I bet it's only the case because he offered to sell his seat.

She had equal opportunity to purchase a seat, she didn't. Tough shit lady. I remember many years ago dad and I went to the airshow here and we decided to get gold pass tickets that entitled you to a seat in the stand and priority stuff. The seats were a sell out so everyone had a numbered seat, we turn up to find a family in ours, which were good seats almost at the top of the stand. We asked them to move and the wife got snotty with us and said that there were plenty of other seats, at that time I said that we have numbered seats and when it fills up we can't take someone elses and then my dad just tells them to "fucking move". They got up and fucked off, but their seats were right down the bottom, they jsut wanted better ones. Tough luck, book early like we did.

My seat is my seat and I'd expect the train company to provide an appropriate equivalent if someone unfairly sitting in my seat is disabled in some way. Pregnancy is not a disability, however.
The people who stared should have probably offered their seats if they're happy to be that judgmental.
