That’s the essence of hypergamy - women don’t think men are inherently valuable, and instead select based on the resources they provide. Ayn Rand literally defended this. It’s how women think. Everything is about product, and growth is ignored. Women don’t understand the growth process, which is why they don’t invent, tinker, or lead in business and innovation. They only understand selecting the best product. It’s their biological imperative writ large. Rand’s entire philosophy is based on this idea of worshiping the best...but not worshiping the means of fostering the best. It was inevitable that in a society where women can use the political system to get resources without ostensibly valuing men, they will. That is what has happened. Men still provide the resources, but those resources are funneled through a system and demanded as rights. Why treat men well when the only thing you wanted from them was resources and the government can take the resources and give them to you?

Men value women per se, but women have never, ever, valued anything but the resources men provide. If MGTOW were only about men who can’t provide, it wouldn’t consist of men at every level of the financial hierarchy. The biological basis for women caring for no one but themselves is expressing itself in culture. They create nothing of value. If I judged women by Ayn Rand’s standard, virtually every woman I meet is Hank Rearden’s useless, parasitic brother.

Eventually, women’s physical desirability will be replaced by AI. What will there be to value in them afterward?

It’s not men who are making themselves obsolete. It’s the entire second half of humanity who still doesn’t care about anyone but themselves. 200 years from now, who will engage a relationship with someone who offers nothing in return but sex? Hell, in fifty years every sexual value a woman provides will be obsolete, and an AI can offer better friendship. If a man can get his sexual desires taken care of...please tell me what a woman offers, aside from self obsession. I can count on one hand the number of engaging conversations I’ve had with them. And I met zero of them at Objectivist conferences. They were both devout Christians...I’m atheist.

Seriously, tell me what I get from a relationship with a woman, other than sex. I’d like to get camaraderie, collaboration, intriguing conversation, good ideas...

Instead I get dullards who drone on about body washes and female “empowerment”...like complaining there are not enough female movie leads and then not writing one themselves. Modern women are basically high functioning eleven year old boys obsessed with hygiene and comfort. It’s. Not. Worth. The. Time. The fact is that women are emotionally bankrupt m and leave men feeling empty. Why engage that misery? I’d enjoy taking care of a woman...if she hadn’t been taught to think of that care as a political “right” that she receives for doing nothing but breathing.

The problem is that capitalism is doing what Rand said it would do: it exposes incompetence. Worse, it’s lifting the curtain and exposing the fact that men are, overwhelmingly, the good guys of Atlas Shrugged. It’s also exposing the parasites, and just as exposure made those parasites even louder and more toxic in the book, it’s doing the same in reality.

Leftists are hysterical right now. Feminists are hysterical. They offer nothing, and they know it. The feminists aren’t interested in equality, and neither are women. They want power. Capitalism and abundance has exposed this underbelly: women don’t take responsibility for creating the values they demand. Full stop. Even after sixty years if civil rights, women still represent less than ten percent of the production of every basic need of modern civilization:

road building construction
electricity
plumbing
farming
and infantry

...yet there aren’t any women demanding equal responsibility for those fields. They’re not even being subtle about the power grab: they call it empowerment and demand more money, more services, and high prestige jobs.

When women no longer respect men for providing those values, men no longer have an incentive to maintain relationships with them. How the hell is that difficult to understand?

Regardless of your intellectual “stand,” men are opting out. That’s a real phenomenon, and it’s caused by real things. But sure, dismiss it. Men aren’t opting out for intellectual reasons. MGTOW isn’t a philosophy. It’s a name for something much deeper: women no longer provide meaningful experiences for men.

That should scare the fuck out of everyone. Instead, you respond with sanctimony. Jesus Christ.

MGTOW doesn't necessarily mean "Going Galt". It's more a "Going Galt" lite, in the sense one removes oneself from one aspect of society (i.e. marriage at least, all the way to monk mode at the other end of the spectrum). Note that's just one aspect, and doesn't require building a shack in the woods.

If you're talking about objectivism, the philosophy that ayn rand espouses in atlas shrugged, then I can agree that a lot of mgtow are paralleling objectivism without outright following it, but not following all of it.

Objectivism celebrates selfishness, which is all well and good but I feel that we as men should still help each other out if needed, since the vast majority of men are net tax payers but can't get governmental support.

Objectivism also celebrates promiscuity which I think we can all agree has lead society to the brink of destruction that we're teetering on now.

But for the most part, most mgtow follow objectivism pretty closely, in that we don't give handouts willy nilly, minimize what the government can take from us (through taxes, student loans, alimony, and child support), keep women away from our resources, and so on.
