I've been musing on my experiences with women and watches and wanted to open up discussion on the topic, and the wider topic of value displays.

I offer a few personal experiences.

First observations are on when I wore a Rolex.

Every woman will notice, regardless of if they are a bookworm type or a club girl. The only difference is how they approach the topic. Club girl is likely to make a comment in public "Is it real?" the more obnoxious might even try to grab your wrist to look at it. The other more 'good girl' types will also mention it, but more privately. The funniest I heard was "that's the first time I had sex with a man who wore a Rolex"

Other men who are clued in to such things will notice as well - I was once asked across the table in a bar by someone I barely knew "if that was a vintage Rolex?". I applied in the affirmative and ended up chatting with this guy and another on the topic of watches for a while. It certainly helped my social value in the situation.

Nowadays I wear a more casual classic automatic (not a rolex) quite plain, though it has still netted me interest. However the fact that fewer men these days wear nice watches means it still gets noticed by women - and their interest in it can often be a precursor to interest in you. The harsh truth is shiny things display value and ability to provide for protection.

Dressing well should include wearing a nice watch - the bottom line is it demonstrates value and success.

Start saving up and by a nice watch, or two I wouldn't go for a face anything less than 40mm. I would also invest in a nice everyday casual watch and a more bling/ostentatious watch for dress events and just plain sarging. Like anything else though, you have to be able to 'own' it - if you just buy a ridiculous bling watch and don't look natural or comfortable with it you'll get nowhere.
