We don't need sharp razors; we need sharp minds

WOW!! That is so awesome!! There are men all over the country that take an interest in helping boys and young men better themselves but we don't hear enough about these stories.

I saw four 5 year old boys throwing a ball around like girls while out taking a walk. I stopped and took time out of my day and showed the little guys the correct way to hold a ball and how to throw it properly. Gave them a few tips on catching. Who were these kids? I don't know.
Now, where is my straight razor?
[β][deleted] 3 points4 points5 points 7 years ago* (1 child) | Copy Link
How come this is not in the commercial?
[β][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
He didn't want to film the way he threw a ball around lol

Are you sure masculinity is not toxic? A certain Gillette razor ad seems to say otherwise. π
[β]SneakyThrowawaySnek25 points26 points27 points 7 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
I was strolling down the street the other day, looking for women to rape. Unfortunately, there were some minority men around that stopped me from raping all the women. Damn you minorities! Why can't a cis-het white male rape anymore? Why!? I would've gotten away with it, too, if it weren't for them and their razor company.
[β]HelmutHoffman13 points14 points15 points 7 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
I held the door open the other day for a lady at the gas station.
I'm now tied up in a sexual harassment suit. That's what I get for being so cis!

[β]fritobandito2146 points7 points8 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Why do we need to have doors anyway, their just a hop, skip away from those immoral walls that are anti american.....
[β][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (14 children) | Copy Link
Honest question, what specific things about the ad said that masculinity was toxic?
[β]reshind1 point2 points3 points 7 years ago* (10 children) | Copy Link
A male targeted product telling men to stop being men because itβs not nice. βWomen are nice so be like them.β Itβs not always overt m8.
[β][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link
Interesting that some people saw it as stop being a man and not stop being a twat lol
[β]TheNubianChimaera1 point2 points3 points 7 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
So why was it aimed at men and target men if the message is stop being a twat? Is being a twat universal or only men can be twats?

Refer to this or, even better, this. The ad is suggesting, like many, many other things nowadays, that behaviour committed by a fraction of a tiny minority of men is the responsibility of all of them, and placing all blame on men for everything wrong in society, as usual. If you felt that either of the two links I posted above would represent ads that are not societally acceptable, then you shouldn't consider the Gilette ad to be acceptable.

"I am right because anecdote!"
The false rape claims are through the roof. If you know police officers well enough for them to actually be honest with you, ask them about how many times they're told about an alleged rape, only for the accuser to change her story and decide not to pursue this any further. For studies on how many rape claims are fake, I've heard numbers varying between 40% and 60%, depending on the areas. I don't care what you think about that commercial, but that bit about "women never lie about rape!" is utter bullcrap, at the very least.

I'm rapidly learning to think on my feet whenever people throw PC shit around and I seem to be the only one around willing to call it out. Yeah, I'm new to all of this. ;)

Nah bro theres plenty of us around, society just tries to make people think we're the problem.
[β]cue_zephyr0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I know y'all are out there, I salute you. I just find myself in PC shitstorms because of people I know and interests. Also people tend to not speak up around here, just letting it happen until it's too late.

Masculinity creates warriors and wins wars. Feminism ruins a civilized and advanced society when left unchecked.
Masculinity has no limits as to what can be accomplished. It built the world, it made us the most advanced species on the planet.

This is amazing. This barber deserves medal. It kind of brought a tear to my eye cause I am a misanthrope but this act is high class towards evolution of humans. Its great to see somebody planting the seed in those young minds. It doesnt happen often today.

Toxic masculinity you mean learniing how to survive. Versus subservient not wanting to hurt wyoumin's feefees and serving them.
Single parents and the school system completely against this they want males as dumber ugly girls.

This kind of creativity motivates everyone into becoming less cynical and more involved in the world around them. Understand that everyone can make a difference and simultaneously improve one's own life and mental health. It doesn't even matter if the object, i.e. these kids, immediately appreciate it.
This is so amazing, damn man all the best for their business. What a fantastic exercise for youth
