This is my first post in years. Been around here for almost 7 years, but this is something I never see discussed and has been bothering me more and more.
Obviously most of us here know about the diversity hiring and the very annoying fact that women aren’t expected to work as many hours or for as long.
However I have not seen anyone discuss the change in the expectations for men’s behavior after women entered fully the modern work force. A litany of new expectations that for my money, are probably a big reason for the “Trump job gender gap” let’s call it.
If you have watched any of Trump’s latest rally’s he has started poking fun at men for the fact that “60% of the new jobs have gone to women! What happened to the men? Better step it up men!” Now, the question is what is causing this 60:40 gap in the new jobs? I think men are looking less hard than women, although I suppose it is possible it is something else. But if I’m correct that men aren’t seeking work out as much as women, couldn’t it be that men aren’t looking because the more classically manly men know they won’t last very long with these new behavioral standards?
I find them to be intolerable. I actually got fired from a Men’s only homeless shelter due to my boss’ wife making the rules too unreasonable and complaining loudly about it.
Comment below about stories that support my hypothesis. Or refute it but if you do also hypothesize yourself for the reason behind the 40:60 new job percentages for men and women.

current standard is to discriminate against men. this gives men obvious disadvantage when all kinds of secret hiring quotas are applied.
fortunately, the market will sort this out. there is a reason for ”go woke, go broke” one-liner.
as a sidenote: a financial crash of some kind of magnitude is coming, probably in fall. I just read that ECB (European Central Bank) is starting QE and government bond buy program. I smell desperation.

well, there has been a bubble growing for a while (like the 2008 bubble that started around 2002).
I’m not personally happy about this, but the way ECB and Fed keep feeding money to economy and inflation not moving makes me really worried about a crash.
loan rates in Europe are almost going to negative, which is is highly suspicious. that money must go somewhere and it is probably not real economy (= it is feeding some kind of bubble)

well, the real economy and the hype economy have been long separate. basically the real economy is only a fraction of stock market and derivatives, and you also have the bond market on top of that (which in europe is basically money transfer from northern and central europe to south).
when central banks basically print money (quantitive easing and low rates, for example), that money has to go somewhere. ECB has been pushing that money out by making it very expensive to banks to keep their money in ECB accounts.
my guess is that this money has gone to derivative (or future) markets or cheap corporate loans. some of that money my have also gone to metropolitan estate markets, since the prices there have gone totally out of whack.
so, unlike 2008 we may have many microbubbles in multiple areas

Netflix is apparently very leveraged on cheap corporate loans. many other services may also be overleveraged.

being a ”quota hire” when you are in fact a skilled, hard working individual must suck ass. people suspect you to be fraud and you have to prove yourself essentially twice.
this is why I really hate all quotas: they hurt the smart and capable and let the lazy and opportunistic thrive.
