I've personally been having some enthusiasm problems in terms of getting to work at studying/improving myself lately. No matter how much I want to do something that would be beneficial for myself, I end up pushing it back. And most of these problems stem from a lack of friends to motivate me I think, as most of them don't seem to care about me and don't message me first, most definitely because I'm not a girl with boobs and a vagina to white knight for.

I really enjoy the role models I can see within this subreddit, seeing all of your accomplishments, makes me want to strive more towards being able to have the self discipline in order to achieve the same sort of accomplishments as all of you, but it's really hard. I just haven't had a solid foundation with my father in terms of discipline as he was in the Air Force for all of my childhood. Now he is currently in the ICU, and I think I'll break even further if something happens to him before I'm able to establish a bond with him, and I don't want my academic career that I'm pursuing to be for naught just because I can't push through all of these feelings.

I would very much appreciate any words of advice any of you have, as I have a deep respect for each one of you.
