While watching YouTube, I heard talk of MGTOW and started searching for what it was. That brought me here and I've read much of the community info. I also watched videos explaining why men decide MGTOW and I understand. I do believe most women today are everything this forum and the videos I've watched make them out to be.
My situation is, at 19 I met my husband. I am a traditional Catholic. I veil and attend TLM and discerned matrimony as my vocation. My husband is a trad Catholic as well.
He was in the army and stationed on the other side of the world. We spent most our time talking on the phone, pre smart phone and face time era. After he came back to the states he proposed and we moved to his next post together and married in a Catholic ceremony when I was 20 and he was 23.
He ETSed and we moved back to our home town. He got a job back home and I was raising babies. 13 years later I am still 100% loyal to him. I homeschool our children with much discipline and energy. I don't slack off and sit around watching tv. I teach Latin, creative writing, math, and speech in our co-op. I also have the kids in a violin program through our local private university. I take care of my home. I cook healthy foods and take great pride in serving from scratch organic meals that can take hours to prepare. I also assist in a local catechesis program for homeschoolers.
Together my husband and I run a small business and we split the work required. He also has a full time job for another company as a regional manager. When our first child was born we only made $24000/yr, so clearly I wasn't with him for money. We both put great effort into building our family and raising the next generation to be well educated and responsible. We both have always said divorce is never an option. In 13 years plenty of difficult times have arisen that would make for an easy out if one of us wanted one.
So I guess my question is, I see you say ALL women are gold diggers, narcissists, riding the carousel, etc. And that's why you mgtow, but what if you met a woman that did really want to build a life and a family with just you and didn't believe divorce was ever an acceptable option. (As a Catholic, divorce still leaves one married unless granted an annulment, but because we had a sacramental marriage an annulment wouldn't be possible either. Our marriage is for life)
Do you believe every marriage is a bad idea, even for a man like my husband? Do you think I'm likely to leave him and take all 6 kids away from him and raise them without a father? Do you think he has the bad deal in our marriage because he has to work a well paying office job while I homeschool all day, clean, cook, grocery shop, run errands, and coordinate specialized lessons and social outings for our children? I am genuinely curious about a MGTOWs opinion on a situation like this. Most stories are about skanky women, single moms, feminists, etc, but I've not been able to find anything about your opinions on a marriage like this.
I've read your opinions on women that use their best years to ride the carousel and take advantage of the privileges they have for being young and beautiful, but I never did that. I was very beautiful. Homecoming queen, cheerleader, etc. I had many offers for dates, but I only dated guys that were interested in Catholic marriage because I didn't see a purpose to dating other than to find a life partner. At 19 I was already with my future spouse, not in bars trying to find sex. At 21 I already had a baby and was working on more. I used my best fertility years to bring life into the world and now try to raise them the best that I can. Am I dumb? An anomaly? Or something else... My social circle is full of other homeschooling families in which my husband has many friends and the wives have 7,8,9 children that they homeschool and many run small family farms while their husbands work office jobs. So I know that loyal faithful women exist.
Anyways. I'd just like to hear MGTOW opinion on this type of marriage.
