I read the story, it's an interesting situation to be in for sure. Dude makes 200k, she makes 30k. Clearly she's going to become a stay home wife once she gets pregnant. He thinks 85% is high now, soon it's going to be 100%!

That's the double-headed snake of modern times. Accept a woman who works as much as you do and makes similar money in order to 50/50 life, or pay for 100% and have your homemaker.

With his kind of salary compared to hers, she definitely see's money signs and is going to be constantly pushing him to buy stuff.

It is only a matter of time. Stage 1 you earn 200 I earn 32 therefore we earn 232.00 wouldn’t it be nice with our cosy apartment that you come home to a loving partner and a home cooked mean. Stage 2 I am pregnant Stage 3 you are never home I have to sort baby out and I only earn 32 it’s pointless getting a nanny I have to give up work. Stage4 I am trapped in this flat all alone you are never here Stage 5 you now support me and baby in a lifestyle that we expect and are used to. Stage 6 you finally end up alone in a bedsit.

Simple solution. Get the deal in writing, then allow her to only use 15% of the apartment. The entertainment value alone would be worth the hassle.

If he wants to be with her and she can’t afford 50/50 him paying 85% is fine. The issue here is she wants to move to a better place that will cost more. Not cost her more, only cost him more.

Another failure to understand. He's worried about their future and can't understand why she doesn't prioritize that. It's because she has no idea if his future will involve her. How does his having money down the road help her if she's dropped his ass? BUT know what? She can benefit from his money NOW. Hence now is the only consideration she has. And besides, where do you think she'll have more chances to monkey branch up the financial tree: hobo town or the neighborhood of all the other young, successful professionals who have thousands to drop on single living lofts instead of having to shack up with multiple roommates? The ONLY down side for her is letting him prioritize HIS future, because that's the one that traps her with him.
