I've been watching one thirty-second video all day long -- I keep coming back to it about every hour or so. It's me, this morning, in the gym, breaking my personal deadlift record. This took two solid years of work, including several setbacks, times I slipped and didn't lift for several weeks, nagging injuries (shoulder) everything. I did it.
This morning I was training with my coach and my partner, we kept upping the weight, and finally we got to what would be a PR. I stepped up to it, and smashed the shit out of it. Not just a PR, but five reps of it -- we were going for a five-rep maximum weight, and I did both. On the video, at the end, I slam the barbell down, and you can hear my coach, who's taping this, yell out "NICE! Not only a PR, but FIVE REPS."
Oh -- and I'm fifty-six fucking years old.
GYOW. You can do it, whatever it is.
