Any thoughts on "The Book Of Five Rings"? I saw people talking about it over here. What is it about? Is it worth reading?

Read it 6 months ago, don't even remember shit. It's overrated. I would go for Meditations by Marcus Aurelius or Enchiridion by Epictetus instead.

Book of the Five Rings was written by Miyamoto Musashi (the swordsmen). It's good, not great but you need to have a basic understanding of zen and buddhism to read it.

Yes. It's a quick read, but take your time to consider if/how you can apply the principles.

Some others I find useful for me:

Sun Tzu's Art of War, Machiavelli's The Prince, Gracian's Art of Wordly Wisdom, Siu's The Craft of Power, Carnegie's How to win friends and influence people. The classics, ancient Roman and Greek writings are also worth investigating, Cicero for example.

I also find the writings of Marquis de Sade to my liking, though not easy reads.

You need to understand the principles of MIYAMOTO MUSASHI THE GREATEST SAMURAI SWORDSMAN of all times. SELF TAUGHT. Read it with an open mind. He was a MGTOW ahead of its time and in sense of pwrfecting yourself.

I went through the book and highlighted portions I found relevant too myself, mostly passages on mastery and such. Say what you will about Musashi, he knew how to master a skill, he did become a master swordsman after all (check out his biography, shits nuts). I think as long as you aren't expecting it to be that instant click in your brain that makes you figure everything out, you can glean some solid insight from it.
