Allyson Brittany Moran, 27, was sentenced to between 25 months and 15 years

She will more than likely appeal the case, and especially that sentence, will likely have it reduced for "time served" (i.e. any days she's been in custody prior to conviction & sentencing, even likely getting credit for days "out on bail"); then with time off for "good behavior" she'll very likely end up being IN for little more than a year, possibly less (they may even be able to argue for her to be under "house arrest" close supervision -- i.e. ankle bracelet/GPS -- during the appeal, and gain credit for THAT time as well, meaning she may not serve any time at all).

I will note that it seems the case (her behavior) was a bit more egregious & predatory than it appears at first glance. To begin with this is apparently her FIRST teaching position (the article says she is 27 years old, but that is her age now, at sentencing; 2+ years ago when she started her job, she was only 25 possibly not even), a single year contract as a substitute teacher starting the fall of 2016, really only a few months before the specific assault events (which apparently happened in April of 2017), and she began "grooming" this boy (and apparently several other potentials) several months prior.

So, when her attorney noted she'd already been punished by losing her "dream career"... Well one wonders which "career" was actually her "dream"? A career as a school teacher? Or a career as a serial molester of HS boys? She certainly seems to have begun them both at the same time.

Well, a good chunk of it is simply the demographics of the field.

I'm certain that the "variation" in coverage IS part of the equation as well.

You are choosing to entirely ignore that there is a FACTUAL and substantial "power" differential as well as significantly different "rights/privileges."
