Stumbled across this brilliant comment by Hokibukisa, who has succinctly summed up a side of MGTOW that many miss:
Mgtow ain’t going away, contrary to popular belief, it is not a response to feminism. Mgtow is the result of big data on women. The internet has pulled back the curtain, we see your nature, we see what you say vs what you do. Mgtow is the logical way to live your life as a man even if feminism were dead.

I do not trust women talking about MGTOW, even if what they say is accurate and I feel like agreeing, I still don't trust them or their message. I encourage you to be the same way.

I've seen a couple female MRAs who, in the MensRight sub reddit, will post message after message, month after month confirming an understanding of the problems MRAs are noticing... but then the right topic will come up and suddenly they're 100% Team Women™. They will even acknowledge that innocent men are being thrown under the bus but THINK OF THE WOMEN.
Honestly made more sense once I realized that women don't feel empathy or love for men. Women saying MRA/MGTOW messages KNOW they should be thinking/saying these ideas but they don't FEEL what they're saying.
So, of course, while you do have to be careful about some women trying to manipulate you into a false sense of security, you also have to worry about other women dishing out advice that's a mix of what they know they should be saying and what they feel they should be saying. (And what they feel won't be in your best interests.)
Not that you should take what other men say without critical thought either... plenty of men willing to do women's dirty work after all... but you'll at least find other men who can empathize with you and wish for your well being.

Makes sense. We can read up all we want, but women won't trust regular men talking about 'the third trimester and what to expect'.

Yes, i can only agree with this.
The only suspicion i have is that this mentally sick women we have today is not caused by nature but by nuture, and i don't mean bad parenting, but i'm extremely suspicious of social engineering.
Please get me corrected if you can prove me wrong, i have growing and strong reasons to suspect that this dumpbag called "feminism" has actually been setup by the Cabal, using Asperger women during industrial revolution and 20th century, so the "normal" women begin to try to imitate them in the industry, in tech and in other fields. Aspie women are in many aspects similar to us, just they do not hate us and are very caring despite their capacity.
The other part of the manipulation seems to be made by the fact that if 90% of modern women tries to be like aspies (what they are not) then they get frustrated with us and they begin to hate and try to race against us. At this point (2nd to 3rd wave), the cabal begins support this pathological process empowering the mentally sick ones, and disempowering us the males.
If one day i get proved right.. then what sort of treatment will feminist women require and what sort of reprimand may the culprits of this conspiracy against humanity deserve?

i like it but i have something simpler, think economic preservation,
the best way given the circumstances in a decaying economy is to push for having it's currency's value be stuck in none accessible pockets, or pockets with a very low decay rate
pushing for a society which implants liabilities (higher risk/loss) into the systems that drive it economically, you know what i mean but this (men), you can ensure that you would decrease the overall liquidity of wealth thus slowing down its inevitable decay and collapse.
so what do we have? a society that encourages market movers to invest in liabilities, men to invest in woman, the woman gets to profit on average, and you're always moving that profit back into the economy in the form of beauty related services/ products, restaurant culture, buy a house for the wive, ect ect
mgtow is BAD FOR THE ECONOMY, if you're at the top, the last thing you want is men detaching themselves from the illusion of consumerism while finding ways to feed their own happiness and only focus on making money, VERY VERY BAD.
but im poor so idgaf, imma gmow
[–]DWShimoda5 points6 points7 points 7 years ago (11 children) | Copy Link
This is the short-sighted, wholly-mistaken (albeit granted currently prevalent) view of "economics"... one based on the entirely fallacious notion that "consumption" -- and particularly ever-increasing consumption -- is a GOOD thing, in and of itself.
Even for those "at the top" it is a short-term mindset... basically one of "raiding the cupboards" and consuming all the seed-corn: in essence it is "eat, drink & be merry... and the devil take tomorrow."
[–]death-loves-time1 point2 points3 points 7 years ago (10 children) | Copy Link
but what about the thoery that consumption is logically connected to money transactions, aswell as increased consumption implies and overall increase in the number of transactions in the economy, and thats technically a force which negates the negative effects of stale money and its unused potential aswell as increasing market competition,
if its not a GOOD thing then what is the negative implications of it?
[–]User-31f64a4e9 points10 points11 points 7 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
as well as increasing market competition
Nobody rich and in their right mind wants to compete. They want tribute. They want rents. It is no accident that finance drains away about 1/6 of all income.
We don't live in capitalism, we live in corporatism.
-==-
This is why our elites want large scale power generation, instead of home solar. This is why most things you can do for money have regulation, barriers to entry and licensing requirements.
How will we tax you if you just cut a neighbor's hair in your basement?! Gotta require a license, require insurance, zone that shit out of residential neighborhoods, make sure the rulers of the universe get a cut of the hair dressing business (if you'll pardon the pun)!
[–]death-loves-time4 points5 points6 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
thats right, an open market that strays away from benefiting the rich exclusively is the correct approach ,purchasing power and wealth is less consolidated, that is, unless you want to turn into another monarchy shithole

ROTFLMAO*
Ask yourself relative to the above: cui bono?
Who REALLY benefits from all of that nonsense ("stale" money LOL*).
It has NOTHING to do with actual "production" and NOTHING to do with an actual INCREASE in overall "wealth" -- despite what you have been tricked into believing, "capital" is in fact not "money" -- and the entire construct of the "velocity" of money is a farcical one.
* This -- both the ROTFLMAO and the LOL -- is not a "happy" laugh... quite the opposite in fact, it is a very sad "shake my head" laugh at the abysmally self-destructive present state of things, the general "brainwashed" acceptance of these (subversive, destructive, fraudulent "con-artist") inanities... and of course the inevitable idiocy that results: the declaration that "capitalism has failed" (as if any society can exist or continue, much less thrive without actual "capital" -- and no, again that does not mean, and I am NOT referring to "money").
[–]death-loves-time0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link
well i was under the assumption that increased transactions implies increased spending implies increased incentive to spend, implies increased labor output implies more overall productivity (out of demand) , which is what i am arguing for.
now you keep insinuating that i am brain washed and mentioned that what i said and the components in my sentences are *not* what they are, but you do not define what they *are*, simply denying the validity of how i used the words and their context is not sufficient for an argument. what is capital in that case?
btw i did not mention anything about 'the failure of capitalism' but the decay and inevitable collapse being the economic cycle or business cycle type model, the recession IS inevitable, a recession IS the collapse, did you really believe im implying that were headed towards the next stone age? am i a senior who grew up in the cold war? gimme a break
[–]DWShimoda1 point2 points3 points 7 years ago* (4 children) | Copy Link
now you keep insinuating that i am brain washed and mentioned that what i said and the components in my sentences are not what they are, but you do not define what they are, simply denying the validity of how i used the words and their context is not sufficient for an argument.
Because you are. Note the prior paragraph:
You want increased labor... have a big group of people dig ditches... with spoons; and then have another big group of people fill the ditches back in... pay them handsomely to do this: Voila! Lots of "velocity of money" and -- per the present idiotic "economic doctrine" lots of (so called) "productivity"... never mind that none of it is actually PRODUCTIVE in any meaningful sense.
Oh, you don't like the inanity of the "ditches" (Ewww... manual labor), and prefer an "information" economy, etc -- fine, then pay a bunch of people to create all kinds of inane paperwork (policy statements, mission statements, what-the-fuck-ever), pay a bunch of other people to edit/review, and (at least ostensibly) "read" said paperwork... Same thing really.
Key point relative to your indoctrination/brainwashing into the mantra-like dogmatic-inanity is the following:
what is capital in that case?
Because -- to be BLUNT about it -- that you ask that question, and frame it in that "subjective" manner -- proves that you don't have the least clue what "capital" actually IS.
You still think it's "money" of some kind or another (gold, fiat, credit, digital, whatever, etc.)
i did not mention anything about 'the failure of capitalism' but the decay and inevitable collapse being the economic cycle or business cycle type model, the recession IS inevitable, a recession IS the collapse, did you really believe im implying that were headed towards the next stone age? am i a senior who grew up in the cold war? gimme a break
I didn't imply that you were saying "failure of capitalism" -- I was merely noting that THAT is the (eventual/inevitable) end result of the inane idiocy of flawed economic understanding; chiefly the failing to comprehend what "capital" actually is.
As for the so called "economic cycle" (or arguably an even more abysmal misnomer the "business cycle"), that too is a result of the SAME lack of comprehension about capital (and so the gullibility/susceptibility to the fraud of the "financialization" inanity -- aka "stone soup").
[–]death-loves-time1 point2 points3 points 7 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
yes a group of people will dig ditches and another fill them up, this is PART of the set of dynamics that take place, some of which are indeed useful and practical, nothing is efficient, nothing will ever be efficient.
infact would you rather have people live in poverty to have meaningless irrelevant jobs which negate their poverty or you would rather have them have nothing? (with the only other thing you can propose being them getting free money, which they do partially with some sort of a system in place) if you are proposing that the organizational structure we have now should be ideally optimized and efficient, pardon my french but no shit.
im am certain you yourself engage in activities that are sub optimal, maybe even not practical in any way, and thats okay because even fillers serve a purpose, irrelevant of what fillers are.
and i did ask that question and framed it in a 'subjective' manner, i have already stated what i initially assumed capital was, and you said its not that, and again you assume on my behalf what i potentially still think it is, without providing any explanation onto what capital actually is in-order to demonstrate some contrast or invalidate my assumption, please tell me what capital is i am asking you a second time i want to listen to what your explanation of it is
"Because -- to be BLUNT about it -- that you ask that question, and frame it in that "subjective" manner -- proves that you don't have the least clue what "capital" actually IS."
"bhiefly the failing to comprehend what "capital" actually is."
you sound like an npc repeating the same line
[–]DWShimoda1 point2 points3 points 7 years ago* (2 children) | Copy Link
As I said... brainwashed/indoctrinated... thoroughly.
This is a false dichotomy -- a false TRI-chotomy (though I will note you couldn't help yourself... you jumped RIGHT smack dab into the "trap" of socialism/communism/welfare; also known as "capitalism has failed" LOL).
Key point there is the words "sound like" -- and the unstated "to me" (i.e. YOU).
And of course it sound like an inanity to you -- because, yet again, you are FUNDAMENTALLY clueless (and not merely clueless, you are entirely mislead/mistaken) -- your entire "viewpoint" on it is in-commensurable with the reality.
please tell me what capital is
Because you will dismiss it with a "Well duh!! of course I know that, EVERYONE knows that!" -- and then you'll proceed to try to complexify it with layers of inanity and faux-erudition about "higher levels" of it, etc -- but in point of fact you don't actually know any such thing.
If you DID understand what "capital" actually is, you wouldn't need anyone to explain it to you.*
* If you actually WERE a "five year old child" THEN I could explain it to you... and you MIGHT "learn" it.
But you are NOT a five year old child -- instead you are a massively "miseducated" adult, one who is absolutely CERTAIN that he already "knows" what he's talking about -- and as a result (alas, more's the pity) you are ineducable on the subject. (In fact the MORE "educated" you are on it -- the higher the level of pretense to knowledge/understanding you have -- the LESS capable of comprehending you actually are.)

Perhaps. Mostly, the elite want to extract rent, and stay in charge. The fate of the planet is a distant concern because when you are as sociopathic as the elite, "Apres moi le deluge" comes naturally. A few strategic bolt-holes scattered about the world is plenty good enough.

Theres a weird spiritual twist behind it man if you dig enough. Oddly the people “we elect” have some very very out there beliefs, that make tom cruise seem normal. Hildawg is one of them. Read her autobio and she talks about bill and her going to witch doctors in haiti to let spirits possess them.
A large part of occult teachings we never get a taste of are extremely sexist towards men. Look into kaballah and lillith, adams first wife who refused missionary (being sub) and ditched the garden to become the first succubus. Shes literally the symbol of feminism. Lilithcon and all that bs.
I really hope this doesn’t fall on dead ears. Far from your typical woo woo. Just grew up with a very yin/yang household. Irish father in collections huge skeptic and iberian/basque mom who does yoga and shit and saw witch dr’s with her aunt when little (santeria). The signs are all there that these people heading this “feminist movement” are involved with darker older practices. All this transhumanism shit too.

MUCH of this Feminism dogma crap is just older Pagan/Middle-eastern pagan beliefs being re-hashed for a 'modern' world. Even the transgenderism stuff is just more Cult of Cybele, re-packaged for the 21st century. As for the rest of your post, I agree. There is some FUCKED UP shit going on with these people. They are NOT the types that simply say 'let's go to Church on a Sunday morning, get a little community, and go home'. Nope, they are FAR FAR FAR into much darker shit.

Yes, and it's what we have to do now if we wish to arrest the system: to leave it and do our own wealth and preserve it away from corrupted women. Then we have to investigate the social engineering behind this disaster and get the culprits seriously punished.

Feminism is one head of the same hydra as transgenderism, globalism, materialism, athiesm etc.
It's part of the plan to make the public completely docile, weak and disconnected so that the cabal of anglo elites and zionists will never be challenged or overthrown.
If you look into who is funding the most prominent of these groups, you'll always find connections to the same elites.

you can't even define mgtow ultimately, that's why we can't be beat. i still would like to get married and have a family. i still like the whole family concept. I sometime waver between that and the hermit monk mode life, i do enjoy both. but for me its just logical that i'm mgtow, i do not have enough overall wealth, security or patience to care for or live with a woman. i've done it a few times and it always works for a bit. but even the most passionate love affairs have a honeymoon period of 2 years at most.
people forget mgtow is for the most part a 'reactionary' group. its simply men reacting to the times and environment in which they live. i'd like to have a family but i had no issues going fully mgtow. its the only logical reaction to the way women are and how much that bad behavior is encouraged by society.

It's not a political movement, it's a philosophy or a coping strategy, so there is nothing to be defeated. To say otherwise is a category error.
As to your comment on formlessness ( i.e. can't be defined ) - yes, that makes any specific attempt to pressure MGTOW (bachelor tax, shaming, workplace discrimination, China style social credit system, whatever) difficult because anything so amorphous can adapt. Like water, MGTOW can flow around obstacles.

Of course MGTOW can, and has been, defined. I think you mean to say that MGTOW do not have a formal structure, hence cannot be easily identified. Don't bet on it. I foresee a time when the powers that be are so desperate they'll label any man who isn't married or in a long-term relationship as MGTOW and "penalize" them accordingly.
i still would like to get married and have a family. i still like the whole family concept
Then I would humbly suggest that you're not ready to GYOW.

[–]her_958_resistors[S] -1 points0 points1 point 7 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link
One of the core MGTOW tenets is to shed desires that are detrimental to inner peace and understanding of the self.
The introspective man strives to understand where desire springs from. Some — such as our desire for women and marriage — are instilled by society and are best left behind, because these will eventually devour our inner peace and existence. Nothing good comes of such desires. Only when we comprehend and abandon such desires can we truly Go Our Own Way.
[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
yeah, that's what i'm doing. just because a monk is celibate, doesn't mean he doesn't sometimes get horny. its all part of the process. the desire for pair bonding is exactly as you said, a spring of energy by which i need to even further my detachment from, but i'm already pretty fucking detached.

Men with a functioning brain know it's for each of us to choose our own way.
So if a man with a functioning brain chooses to court, marry and reproduce, he is Going His Own Way — this conforms to your definition. According to it, he is a MGTOW, yes?
[–]Lyradex-1 points0 points1 point 7 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Yep, exactly. We each choose our own way. Only a woman or a cultist would try to enforce rules or guidelines.
Then you have missed the point of MGTOW entirely, and you're stuck on a dogmatic train of thought that does not lead to reality.
Look around. See how many people are laughing at you right now. Your posts prove that you are deluded, simple-minded and lack basic comprehension skills. However, you have declared yourself as a MGTOW so as to feel like you're somebody, like you're worth something, to delude yourself into thinking your life's worth something. You're wrong on all counts.
Still, if pretending to be someone you're not makes you feel better, why would I correct that? My energies are better spent elsewhere.
Carry on.

They weren't spurious, they weren't arbitrary, or capricious, they also weren't based on any delusion that men were "perfect" -- they were based on "big data" about men AND women -- i.e. generations of EXPERIENCE dealing with both men AND women, and constructing a society that controlled/limited the damage that the generally more "problematic/irresponsible" gender (women/females) were capable of inflicting on a civilization; while also placing constraints & burdens (accountability ACCOMPANYING authority) on the generally more "productive/responsible" gender (men/males).
[–]User-31f64a4e2 points3 points4 points 7 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
This is the essence of what Edmund Burke wrote.
The intellectuals’ ambition to rationalize society led them to attack authority in the name of liberty, convention in the name of nature, and hierarchy in the name of equality. Oblivious to the true basis of political community, they failed to grasp that society resembles an organism rather than a machine; it is a living, evolving entity held together by shared “prejudices.” Far from being irrational, as the philosophes had taught, these prejudices actually embody the collective experience, judgment, and wisdom of past generations, and so define the national identity. To undermine prejudice is to weaken the social bond, which may then disintegrate into “the dust and powder of individuality.”
Prescient.
Though Burke was also not without his own "blindspots" in other regards.
Per example the former "French Society" he was writing in "Reflection" on (i.e. the Ancien Regime) was itself hardly a STABLE society -- much less mutually beneficial one (even in any relative sense).
It's downfall... and moreover that it's demise was inevitably going to be "violent" -- was arguably pretty much built into the "regime" itself. (Which, while it is -- obviously -- easy to say so with 20/20 hindsight, the violent downfall of that regime is not as surprising as the fact that it actually managed to last as long as it did; although even that is a bit dubious, since it was never actually "stable" in it's construct, and was hardly as "Ancient" as it's appellation implied.)
[–]User-31f64a4e1 point2 points3 points 7 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Absolutely agree.
While English kings slowly lost power (multiple civil wars and revolutions, but nothing as bloody as the reign of terror) the French Kings kept all of theirs long past the sell-by date created by the rise of a middle class.

While English kings slowly lost power (multiple civil wars and revolutions, but nothing as bloody as the reign of terror)
Well, old Oliver and his "Roundheads" weren't exactly pussycats.
the French Kings kept all of theirs long past the sell-by date created by the rise of a middle class.
It wasn't really anything remotely like some singular consistent "regime" across the generations.
Nor in many was was the French revolution or even the "reign of terror" really all THAT bloody... especially outside of Paris (considering that the population of France at the time was probably around 20 to 25 million, even double-digit thousands was -- again outside of Paris -- less than a 1/10th of 1% of the population); in fact arguably the majority of the "nobility" engaged in a timely "exit stage left."
Compare that against even a minor "plague" (much less a mass-death epidemic like the "Black Plague") and it's actually pretty trivial... arguably more of a "surgical amputation of a finger" rather than some "decimation" (not even of the upper "estates" which outside of Paris were probably 1% of the total population).

while it makes sense from a bacholers point if view, you can't have a society that is made of mgtows
if feminism and gynocentrism disappeared then the obvious thing to do is to get married and have kids again. otherwise our society's would eventually get taken over by other men who did have an interest in keeping society alive(see muslims)
although that would be irrelevant in a world where the artificial womb exists
[–]DWShimoda2 points3 points4 points 7 years ago (11 children) | Copy Link
Actually you can.
It would be -- from our perspective -- a relatively "weird" society... but it can exist; arguably HAS existed in the past.
What you end up with is a small percentage of "elite" men (~10% to ~20%) having a large "harem" -- multiple wives and/or concubines -- and likely then hundreds of children.
And the remainder of the men (~80% to ~90%) being variously "bachelors/eunuchs/slaves."
One consequence of that of course is that the vast majority of the SONS of those "elite" males... end up being destined to be bachelors/eunuchs/slaves themselves. This happens perforce: there aren't enough female children to allow ALL of the sons of those men to have their own "harems"; and -- since the upper class claims the vast majority of the women, the lower class is bereft and as a result precluded or at least limited in terms of reproduction/offspring (even if some of them were to have a woman, or several of them were to "share" a woman they cannot reproduce in large numbers) -- ergo those "extra" sons of the elite are needed to become the next generation of "workers" (BTW so they also cannot simply be killed off; castrated? yes; killed? nope.)
There are other consequences of that as well: to begin with the primary aspect of such a society will inevitably be "primogeniture" -- that is the eldest SON inherits ALL (or nearly all; possibly a second or even third son {"spare heirs"} are kept viable and given some inheritance as "insurance" against the eldest son dying or otherwise being unable to fulfill his role), but the rest of the sons will be destined to descend, and probably be bereft.
The natural outcome of THAT of course is internecine fraternal conflict -- one or more of the brothers quite literally trying to kill each other (the younger/lesser ones attempting to usurp the "heir" position, or at least open up spots on the ladder toward that end, those privileged "heir or spare" positions; and the older/higher ones {especially the "heir"} preemptively doing the inverse in kind).
There are FURTHER knock-on effects as well: since those sons will be preoccupied with those kinds of what we would call "Machiavellian" plotting (again perforce; because for those in the "heir/spare" spots, it's not really a matter of choice, FAIL to do so and you end up dead, whereas the lesser/lower sons have nothing to lose), and likely obsessed with "sex"; looking forward to gaining/having a "harem" -- well what they WON'T do is worry about becoming "literate" or "numerate" or otherwise "skilled" (at least not in any form NOT used by their father to "play favorites" and designate "heir/spare" status)...
So, there will likely rise up a "scribe/priest" class -- literate and numerate; with at least SOME skill/knowledge of things other than sex/fighting/plotting -- and likewise in fairly short order they will become a "power behind the throne" so to speak (the actual elites being too preoccupied with fucking/preventing sons from killing each other {or from being "sneaky fuckers" slipping into the bed/vagina of daddy's harem}).
That last too creates another problem/issue and class/power-group -- the literal Quis custodiet ipsos custodes problem -- a large harem of wives/concubines needs to be "guarded" (not the least against the "sneaky fucker" heirs & spares & other sons), but the guards themselves then are suspect (even if they are castrated eunuchs and thus NOT a "sneaky fucker" threat themselves, they CAN be "bribed"); and so they too need to have "watchers."
End result is actually a very UNSTABLE "society" -- moreover it is likely to be rather "stagnant" civilization; in terms of innovation/creativity/production. No form of MERIT -- neither genius, incremental "tweaking" creativity/innovation, nor even hard work -- is going to ACTUALLY likely to be rewarded: what gets rewarded (perforce) is SUBVERSION, manipulation, trickery, etc(i.e. palace intrigue).
This is the NATURAL result of female desire for "the best" males (i.e. highest status, so called "alpha" -- who are often, it must be noted, far from the "best" in any term that has actual merit from a "productive" standpoint, or even in terms of "beauty" or "strength" -- there is ZERO guarantee that the most successful person at "palace intrigue" will have ANY merit at all, might be quite ugly, physically weak, obese, illiterate, unskilled, etc; and just be very talented at Machiavellian betrayal shit).
The solution -- a "stable" society -- is one of widespread monogamous pairing, where merit (genius, lesser innovation, hard work, etc) are rewarded, etc...
The problem with THAT, is that -- within a generation or two -- such a society is very likely to FORGET about/dismiss the prior knowledge of female nature (and male "sexual competitive" nature as well), and moreover to be IGNORANT of the consequences of that -- so they begin to ENABLE women (and men) to revert to essentially "feral/animalistic" sexual behavior patterns... which then RECREATES the unstable "alpha-harem" society all over again.

You should create a standalone post from the above. Insightful and thought-provoking.
[–]DWShimoda1 point2 points3 points 7 years ago* (9 children) | Copy Link
You should create a standalone post from the above.
No point in doing that -- at least not within /r/MGTOW -- as essentially no one reads longish text posts, least of all on obscure topics.
Insightful and thought-provoking.
By and large, most of r/MGTOW subscribers aren't interested in anything "insightful" OR "thought-provoking" -- at least not if it cannot be contained within a "meme" picture.
That's not a "snipe" it's simply accepting the actual reality of the way this subreddit (and Reddit overall) now functions -- just as with most other subreddits, as the subscriber count increases, the quality of posts that get any attention or upvotes* drops precipitously (exponentially) -- and it's why I don't see any point (and do not bother even trying) to make such things "stand-alone" threads anymore.
* And it's not that *I* care about the votes per se; but given the volume of new posts, stuff quickly gets bumped off "new" page -- that is it doesn't stay long enough for any substantial number to even give anything more than a quick "glance" (chiefly at the "title/headline") -- and things that don't massively upvoted never make it to the main "hot" page -- so from the perception of the vast majority of users, such things may as well not exist (because functionally they don't).
EDIT: One could add that a subsequent reason for this is also the increasing preference for people to "surf" and "read" [sic, more like 'scan' through topic titles] things like /r/MGTOW from "mobile" small screen devices like smartphones & tablets... things that are really NOT the best for consumption of large chunks of text (whether "insightful and thought provoking" or not), but are much more suited to "pics" (like this thread itself, which contains a "picture" of a very small amount of text, perhaps not quite as little as a "meme" pic; but much closer to it than my comment above).
Thus -- alas more's the pity -- the "dumbing down" continues apace.
EDIT2: To take that further... I would not at all be surprised if within the next generation or two (20 years/40 years) literacy gets further degraded among the masses to the point that the vast majority of the population not only no longer bother to "read" anything longer, but actually become incapable of it.
And that -- along with other things -- sort of plays right into what I was discussing above: a large lower class of people. Not necessarily all males, but rather a sort of a mixture of "androgynous" semi-males/quasi-females; arguably we're already headed in that direction (the "soyificaton" and dramatic reduction in testosterone); if not also headed toward mass literal "emasculation/castration" (chemically, via push-promoting "transgender" delaying puberty & de-masculinizing males via estrogen hormone injections as well as other medications, and the aforementioned soy & other phytoestrogens in most processed foodstuffs). Of course ACTUAL castration of the majority of males (at young ages, possibly even infancy) would be far simpler/easier... but -- at least in present society -- this is not yet acceptable; hence the more complex/covert method of achieving it (while, at least one would think, an upper elite PREVENTING the same from happening to their own cohort; but that presumes they're actually AWARE of the consequences of the present trends).

Couldn't agree more. As MGTOW gains popularity, more people without the ability to introspect or think critically will climb aboard the bandwagon, not knowing where it's going or what it requires of them. This is a cycle which is inevitable. Darker days lie ahead.
[–]DWShimoda3 points4 points5 points 7 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link
It's already to the point where "going MGTOW" apparently now means the equivalent of:
"Oh crap, my girlfriend broke up with me... and I'm kind of in the dumps, depressed & pathetic; so I'll just say I'm 'going MGTOW' for a while... at least until I meet some other chick to go out with/or find some Tinderella to hook up with."
It's sort of like the dating/relationship version of "going Commando" -- after you sharted into your underwear (and ditched them in some quickie-mart/gas station bathroom garbage can, then put your shorts/pants back on w/o underwear) -- if someone catches on somehow that you don't have any underwear on, you just say you're "going Commando" today, that makes it sound like you're doing it intentionally.

For many of the newer joinees, it's about maintaining superficial appearances. They'll even invert the foundations of MGTOW to suit their beliefs (and ensure they don't feel excluded).
In fact, there's one such example right here in this thread. When I asked u/Lyradex "So if a man with a functioning brain chooses to court, marry and reproduce, he is Going His Own Way — this conforms to your definition. According to it, he is a MGTOW, yes?", the reply was:
That to me smacks of a fear of exclusion. He is in a vulnerable state, he has found refuge here, and he will go to any irrational length to ensure his place isn't challenged.
[–]DWShimoda2 points3 points4 points 7 years ago* (2 children) | Copy Link
The entirely of that mentality is just so absurd and delusional.
I don't really know what to add... I could write a whole book (or series of essays at least on the various absurdities present there)... but again, there doesn't actually seem any point in doing so (at least not any longer).
The term MGTOW has now been (is effectively being) "converged" into meaninglessness.
(Ironically that destroys the very thing that these types are trying to cling to... but they don't comprehend THAT either.)

The term MGTOW has now (is effectively) being "converged" into meaninglessness.
It will be diluted to the point of being meaningless, for sure. When a term stands for everything, it ends up meaning nothing.
The beauty of MGTOW, however, is that it's individualistic. Our own words and actions are what matter ultimately to each of us. Charlatans and insecure people can take over the term, but not the lifestyle or the philosophy.
A new term may come to replace MGTOW, and the cycle shall begin anew, but the core values are out of their influence.

RE: Another thought on this:
Only a woman or a cultist would try to enforce rules or guidelines.
Never mind that this doubly-conflated ignorant assertion (absent any backing logic or evidence, and a blatant fallacy all by itself); and never mind also that it is (ironically EXACTLY) the kind of "shaming/belittling" tactic used by both women AND actual "cults" (of which /u/Lyradex knows less than nothing).
The precise problem -- represented & proven by the mere fact that /u/Lyradex is allowed to even comment here much less to state such drivel -- demonstrates that the REAL problem with /r/MGTOW is in fact precisely the rank FAILURE of /r/MGTOW to actually "enforce ANY rules or guidelines."
We've essentially never had any REAL "gatekeepers" here -- as in this case, even the base definition of the word itself is allowed to be denigrated -- no pre-vetting process before people are allowed to shart-out their OWN take on what "MGTOW means to them" or what they "FEEEL it should mean" and assorted other nonsense.
Then of course there is also the whole (entirely hypocritical of course, but he doesn't, is likely incapable of comprehending this) "mindset" that rules & guidelines should apparently not exist... certainly not be "enforced" (Oh heavens to betsy no! Enforce any rule or guideline and -- per /u/Lyradex's brain-shart -- you are now a "woman" a "cultist"... and can "Nazi" and "Literally Hitler" be far behind?)

I like that. "big data on women". I couldn't agree more, actually. I say stuff similar to this, but the way this is worded makes it instantly understandable. He's right, MGTOW isn't going away. Nature never intended us to know about the mysterious woman, she's an excellent manipulator in order to secure our species future. Now that we know, it's going to spread, and then we'll see what it looks like to live in a patriarchy.
[–]User-31f64a4e2 points3 points4 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Nature never intended us to know about the mysterious woman,
Hmm. Nature is not conscious, so of course it has no intentions. To nature life, all life, is just a jump ball. Evolve or die - nature could care less!
I will say that the whole notion of women being "mysterious" is recent, based on feminism destroying the culture and all the messages in it which had traditionally educated men.
The bible had a lot to say as well. In fact it has a lot to say about a lot of things, making it a huge obstacle to social engineering. Clearly, religion has to go.
[–][deleted] 6 points7 points8 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
The government and women must choose. Feminism must die or society will. We will not go back to the plantation. We will not work for the geocentric system. We will not fight those who wish to destroy it. We are men not slaves. However women would rather be raped by invaders than willingly give up feminism.
[–]zubbs995 points6 points7 points 7 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Hmm I'm not sure about this. The relationship bargain has always been thorny, however modern feminism has made the deal so much more lopsided that it's not even worth considering anymore.

Kinda disappointed that this sub didn't strike down this obviously ridiculous quote and claim
The sub didn't "strike down"? That's what's a disappointment to you?
Striking down is the modus operandi of tyrants, feminists, censors and most women. Free thinkers and those with evolved minds do not "strike down"; they evaluate each opinion, each viewpoint on its merits, then make a judgement accordingly rather than breaking down into hysterical calls for "striking down".
The fact that you're effectively calling for tone policing on a subreddit that explicitly bans it (Rule #7), as well as the general tone of your other posts in this thread, tells me you're not a true MGTOW. You're either a female masquerading as one, a perpetrator attempting to sow dissent, or a male with an effeminate mind that runs on emotions.
TL;DR: Be gone, fake MGTOW.
[–]andreas-mgtow6 points7 points8 points 7 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
It's TheSystem, stupid. Women are as they always were and men always knew it and also knew how to handle them.
Feminism is what happens when female nature is enabled and enforced by TheState.
Without their handlers and the judicial system behind them, women revert to being the powerless creatures they truly are.
[–]battle_of_homme2 points3 points4 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

[–]Atton_Risk4 points5 points6 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
MGTOW's growth is proportional to how abusive gynocentrism becomes towards men. The laws are only getting worse the suffering is only becoming greater with sign of an end. MGTOW grows proportionally everywhere this abuse can be seen. Places like Spain where men have zero due process rights when accused by a woman. You can see men in the millions walking away these numbers will only grow.
[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

All women are feminists because of laws against men they can without cause or reason use them anytime they want , almost always getting away with it. . A woman who claims with screaming heart and sole and really means it that she is not a feminist knows she is a feminist subconsciously deep down.

now that we're talking big data, do we have blackpills using actual data/big data on how hypergamous women are and how mgtow is growing and marriage rates plummeting, showing correlations implying causation of various factors?
I agree that MGTOW is not going away, quite the opposite.
Personally to me is a reaction to the system as we know it. Not really blaming any individuals or any sex, either males or females; it's just the system as a whole that has evolved in the present status quo, so it's not really me, it's Newton's Third Law - The Physics For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction that fuels my GMOW.

Women think other men will step up to the plate and they really don't care who it is. A fry cook at McDonald's sperm is just as good. He thinks he's winning until she throws his ass in the garage, tells him he's the maintenance man and if he doesn't like it he's going to get a DV charge along with those child support payments. Ladies don't realize he's just going to dig a hole, put her in it. Go back to his home country with the kid...you go girl!
[–]ppanthero0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Well, of course AWALT. But MGTOW is still a reaction to feminism and socialism. Women were never different but circumstances made realtionships, marriage, cohabitation and parenthood a way better deal for men than now. You found a girl, married her and eventually you drifted apart, she became bitter or started nagging constantly or she even cheated on you. But the worst that could happen was that you divorced her. No divorce rape, no metoo-bullshit, much less entitlement.
