Idk man it depends. It can be a good thing for some people. I’m glad I did it, but I wish I did it earlier, so I could have been out earlier lol.

Stayed single entire time. Didn’t get married right away like some of my peers. Didn’t get involved with any females at work.

Man forget the cuckoldry part. Imagine spending the best years of your life getting your body wrecked beyond repair, suffering from mental health issues, and picking up a number of addictions along the way (alcohol seems to be the most common of them all). To top it all off, the VA treats you like fucking dog shit if you ever have to seek medical attention. I think anyone should think long and hard before joining the military.

It's what you make out of it. If you go in Blue-pill, it's a minefield. If you're MGTOW, choose a male dominated space: Submarines, nukes, Spec-ops.

Two attitudes for success:

A. Act like Captain America, good attitude, never complain, make friends, and always give it 110%. You can choose to get out after 6 years of fond memories and camraderie, or make it a career if you find the lifestyle agreeable.

B. Mercenary attitude. In Navy terms, your MOS (job) is called your Rate. Pick CTN, ITS, CTR, IT, Nuke-rates, or FT in that order. Stick with an IT job if you can, they set yourself up for life They all have good follow on careers and are predominantly male spaces. Get everything you can out of it, play the game, get a clearance, get certs, college, experience, and network. Get a job as a defense contractor overseas making insane money with sweet benefits.

330 days a year overseas, you don't pay the first $110k in Federal taxes If you have a head for business, create a SDVOSB LLC, use it as a tax shield for a few years, sell it to a defense contractor for bank, rinse-repeat.

For some people its about a place to go where you can go to make some decent money and learn skills and exercise and do bro stuff and get paid paid. There are a lot of simp cucks who are targeted by parasitic women who want to live of their salary and ride the cock carousel while they are on their sunny afganistan vacation as well. No not really. Its a great life for a young man as long as you stay focused and away from women. It taught me discipline, self reliance and respect...all great qualities that will serve you well throughout your life including after your service yrs have ended.

Enjoy your time with your brother's... you'll never have friends as close again.

And stay away from thots who are just looking for a military benefits package.

I guess most of us need to make a living, so have to submit to a degree of enslavement.

But the military is the epitome of what a MGHOW tries to avoid: an institution that considers you as completely disposable in the service of "a higher purpose", which enables all the shaming tactics the environment needs to enslave a man.

Are you still going truly your own way when you return from deployment with PTSD and limbs missing?

To all those guys who argue that military taught them discipline and other great things which finally empowered them to go their own way, guess what: so does marriage and dealing with women. So we all here agree that it is a mighty stupid thing to get married although at the end of marriage there is MGTOW enlightening. But there are still many here who promote the military argueing that it teaches you a lot of good stuff. Being able to go your own way after marriage depends on how lucky you have been in surviving divorce rape regarding having your stuff and future freedom taken away, and going your own way after the military depends on how lucky you have been surviving deployment regarding keeping your limbs and your sanity.

You are not going your own way if you are submitting to something else as a higher reality than yourself, and this is why marriage, military and religion are the enemy of any MGHOW.
