Hey guys I picked up a toolbox from my grandmother that was once my grandfathers tool box thats from the mid 70's to early 80s. I want to use it for work but it has some rust on it. I cleaned the rust off the hinges with a brass brush and masked off the areas I need to work on. The bottom half is immaculate no rust but the lid when I taped it off and pulled the tape off it removed some of the hammer tone finish around the handle. Heres a picture of reference of what it is.

I'm just wondering if I should try and repaint the whole thing or just leave it how it is because it has my grandfathers name on it written in nail polish and thats something I really wanted to save. I'm not too worried about it rusting more since it will always be kept inside. Is there a place I could send it to that will restore it or should I try and fix it myself.
