I'm going to say this - It does not matter what you wear - no one should ever rape you. Having said that she was 17 (legal age of consent) and made her own decisions. Did he do it? He says it was consensual. Clearly a jury agreed and I doubt her panties were the deciding factor. Ireland is religious conservative in a lot of ways and it is possible she made a story up to avoid some shame from her friends / family. Especially since the guy was 27 and she was 17.
