I've seen this a few times. Not really sure what was going on, but the dude that got battered was either drunk (at least I think he's drunk) or got over-confident. It's clear the other party was just waiting for an excuse to pounce on him... and he gave them the excuse that they needed. He should have just walked away in the name of self preservation.
