She - like so many other women - has been the victim of a lifetime of conditioning by the media that controls much of our thoughts and actions. Bullsh*t memes like "30 is the new 20", have kept not only women, but men as well acting like juveniles well into their 30's and even older. This must be the intention of the folks who run our media because this is what people are doing now. The media literally causes women to have such high standards in men that they can never be met, or at the very least have a hard time meeting. "He's got to be this, this, and that, and I won't take anything less". This is the attitude of many women -- and they pay for it in the end.

My sister is going through this right now . Her standards are unrealistic, she expects a man to just popup and want to take care of her and she has done next to nothing in terms of personal development ever since she graduated college over a decade ago and got her degree .

I love her but she is by no means a catch . The men she is interested in is always someone who has lots of women interested in him and of course she gets bummed out when these dudes don't pursue her despite her having no overwhelmingly interesting or positive quality that would make someone interested in her .

We were on a cruise and she had a mini breakdown as she had just turned 31 and realized how hopelessly single she was .

I didn't know what to tell her I love her and as her brother I'll always be there to support her but she is not a catch .
