Today I sat down, and browsing through Netflix something we're all guilty of I'm sure. I saw this particular documentary and decided to give it a watch. I've heard a lot of the tiny house phenomenon, but I know it's not for me. Regardless of that the story in a tl;dw is about downsizing your life, and how we live in a consumers world, but we're not happy.
It's funny because the previous night me, and my best bud were having a long conversation about this very topic. It was over the topic of gaming we both felt as though we're just growing up starting to leave gaming behind. I explained that this may be true, but when thinking on it a bit longer I told him instead we just have too much in the way of choices. From what we watch, to eat, to play, to even read. We just have too much "STUFF".
As I went on it dawned on me going back looking at my Steam Library I have some 131 games, and a wish list that contains at least 100 items I want from DLC to Full releases. It's not just games either on my Netflix I've got many movies/tv shows/documentary been meaning to watch, but I realized I'm "overwhelmed", and as far as the games are concerned if you want to know I've only completed maybe 15 titles at best off top of my head. In this era of gaming you know games don't necessarily end anymore.
Not to make this any longer than it needs to be, but where does the Realization part come in you ask? Well that's easy as I've said before we consume "stuff" without thinking about if you need it or not. Clothing, Accessories, Games, Books, Movies, Apps, Electronics you name it, and we just consume it because people keep telling us too.
How can this relate to MGTOW well that's easy those that know how to control that compulsive spending are the ones that will get closer to financial independence or truly being able to GTOW. The only reason I know this is the previous month my whole goal was to only spend on food/gas, and see where I came out at the end. Throughout the entire month I spent no more then $350 for all of that.
tl;dr Realized I'm blowing my paychecks on shit I don't need, and of that I do have overwhelmed by the sheer volume, and finally taking the time to read, watch, or play through stuff already have before any other purchases.
Also Minimalism is documentary avaliable on Netflix
