I was just watching Mike Maloney's new episodes of Hidden Secrets Of Money: American Bread & Circus. Around the 4 minute mark the title quote was mentioned. Husbandmen were incidentally farmers. I thought it was interesting that these guys were the backbone of the Roman Empires food production, yet the gynocentric empire taxed them into oblivion. Made me think of the societal scale shit test we as men now face & the often quoted saying around these here parts on r/MGTOW “Hard times create strong men. Strong men create good times. Good times create weak men. And, weak men create hard times.”
