I attended the 2017 21 Convention. I’ve been meaning to write a review, and the bashing of the convention by those on this sub who didn’t even attend finally gave me the impetus to write this post. Nobody asked me to write this, and I have no connection with and have not corresponded with anybody associated with the convention. Prior to signing up, I had never heard of The 21 Convention or Anthony Johnson. I purchased a ticket for one reason and one reason only: I wanted to meet Rollo Tomassi and shake his hand. His writings have had that much influence on me. I had only heard of a couple of the other speakers. I learned about the convention through Rollo’s announcement on his blog. As the convention approached, I was less than enthused to attend. It was a full four days (very long for a convention), and everything about it was expense (the ticket price, the hotel, the flight, etc.). In fact if I could have cancelled and received a full refund prior to the event I would have.
However, by the final day of the convention, although exhausted, I was disappointed it was ending. I’m not sure I will attend another one – due to the big time and financial commitment – but I am happy I attended this one. Just about all of the speakers – including Rollo – attended most if not all of the event – and were readily accessible when the convention was not in session. Attendees and speakers all hung together a ton. This was the best part of the event. To have maybe 80%+ Red Pill guys all together in one place was EMPOWERING. The attendees I met ranged in age from 22 to 60+ years old. And every last guy was cool – there was little to no AMOGing – and everybody seemed to get along, bonded mostly by The Red Pill and our commitment to self improvement. No, not everybody was big and chiseled, but most were well accomplished: I met a doctor, a lawyer, several software engineers, a military officer, a nuclear engineer, and a pilot. I also met a few college students, young guys with starter jobs who saved for months in order to attend, and a few blue collar guys who were cool as shit. Nobody’s age or title mattered in this setting. It seemed everybody reveled in the chance to hang with so many Red Pilled guys all in one place. Even the few attendees that seemed hopelessly beta were treated with respect. I met and partied with Dark Triad Man. I had never heard of him. He has a command presence that is off the charts but he’s down to earth and a really funny dude – you just have to engage him. Rian Stone, Family Alpha, and Richard Cooper all had great social skills and solid frames; they all appeared plenty alpha to me. Rollo, who does not hesitate to slay dragons with his writing, was soft spoken, polite, and a gracious honorary guest. As you can imagine, he was hounded constantly, and he seemed to have unlimited patience with the attendees. I hung with some of the guys in downtown Orlando two of the nights, and it was a blast to game girls with a big Red Pill posse. Everybody had each other’s back, there was no competing for female attention, and the girls just ate it up. We garnered WAY more attention than our looks deserved. Girls kept asking “Who ARE you guys?” “How are you all connected?” We’d just laugh and give some vague response – which only served to spark even more interest in us. In the end, openly discussing Red Pill concepts with a big group of (male) strangers was extremely refreshing – even a bit surreal.
The convention was far from perfect. I didn’t agree with all of the speakers and not everything said on stage was Red Pill (although the vast majority was). I learned a few new things but most I already knew. But none of that mattered. It was the Red Pill male bonding that made the convention a big success in my estimate. Nothing else (except maybe meeting and discussing Red Pill with Rollo) even came close. I do have mixed feelings about Anthony Johnson – yet it is totally irrelevant. I have to give my experience at the 2017 21 Convention an enthusiastic thumb’s up.
