Hey!
First, I just discovered what mgtow was today, and it has definitely changed my perspective on a few things. I've always been a guy that supports women's endeavors and was a total blue pill? I think this is the right terminology? I hope what I'm saying makes sense here.
I'm not fully switched over by any means, but it is fascinating to see this other side, and it makes me consider if there's something in it for me.
Back story: I have always been a lone trooper. I work hard, I make good money, extremely independent and extremely stable. I met my girlfriend 9 months ago, and she was in the middle of a distance relationship. She would always talk to me as friends about her problems, and we progressively got closer through the next several months.
She broke up with her ex about 6 months ago, and we started dating 5 months ago. They dated for almost two years so the rollover period was super short, BUT in fairness to her she was planning on breaking up for a long time but couldn't because she wanted to do it in person.
I've never been in a serious relationship and this is my first, so I'm looking to hear from those of you who are more experienced on whether or not this is "real" or I should proceed with caution.
- She is a total nerd and I talk to her like she's one of my guy friends
- She is independent, smart, and has some major plans for herself in the future, a housewife is her nightmare lifestyle
- We are both constantly trying to improve each other. However, here's where things get dicey. My productivity and personal growth for work have dropped significantly these past few months almost fully because of her. At the same time, I've been happy and I see it as a good way to spend my time. Should I blame her for this? We both address it as an issue and she does push me to work more and be productive, but the moment she needs that attention, she is more than willing to push me to leave work behind to give her attention. As of the last month, our productivity around each other has significant to improved, so this is becoming a smaller issue.
- She's religious and wants to wait till marriage. On this topic, marriage is a topic that's been brought up between us. Context, we are both under 25. Do you believe the push to get married is because of love or lust? How can this be evaluated?
The sad thing is you all don't know her, and it's difficult to evaluate an individual over a Reddit post. But here are my questions...
A) are there any red flags here? B) What questions/things should I look for to ensure this is "real", and not just one of your typical women. C) as men living the MGTOW lifestyle, what's your perspective on my situation? It seems you all have experiences and I'd love to hear some of them.
